I think I have done a good job by them, because they all all very independent characters to say the least. I enjoy nature. Whenever I have the chance, I like to be outside exploring, taking photographs, and just admiring the world. There are so many places that I’d like to see someday, and hopefully I’ll have the opportunity. Although I’ve gotten away from it for a while after injury and a generally busy life, I like to run. I ran cross country in high school and college. These days I’m mostly cycling for exercise, but if my feet can tolerate the abuse, I wouldn’t mind getting back into running. At 5’6”, I am not particularly tall, but hey, good things come in small packages, right? Which leads me to humor. I would describe my sense of humor as sitcom humor. Not necessarily traditional television sitcom humor, but rather the literal meaning that the television term comes from... situational comedy. I am usually at my funniest when I am reacting to a situation, and it is generally sarcastic and very often self-deprecating. Also, anyone that can enjoy a bad pun that is quite often trying too hard is okay in my book (though certainly not required).
It is also important to note that I am currently a returning adult student. I studied Media Art and Design for four years and took work in the retail printing business, but after a few years I decided that my heart just wasn’t in it anymore. I have since returned to school to pursue a degree in Environmental Science and secondary level teaching certification. One of my dreams in high school was to be a science teacher, so here I am. I will consider teaching in middle school or high school, but ultimately I would really like to teach at a small college, so I am giving a lot of thought to graduate study in geology or geography.

I am very progressive/liberal minded although I have a strong spiritual foundation as well, grounded in Vedic/East Indian culture. I lived as a monk for a brief stint, trying my best to renounce material desires, giving up most of my possessions, trying to eliminate the false ego, etc... I have found it difficult, until recently, to integrate my spirituality with a suitable vocation. I just started working for a company that mainly installs and services geothermal heating and cooling units. I am a huge advocate of green/clean energy in all its forms and geothermal seems to have the greatest demand in this region. I love the concept of treading lightly and leaving as small of a footprint on the earth as possible.
I practice yoga meditation on a daily basis because I firmly believe that we are fundamentally spiritual people. So for me that is the most essential investment I make with my time on a daily basis. I also like to run, bike, kayak, and golf. I love spending time in nature and try to do so as much as possible all year round. That is where I do my meditation
usually, in the woods by a lake or creek. Anyhow, I guess that gives you an idea of the type of person I am.

I'm a gentle, quiet, kind, warm, and open man. I practice peace and voluntary simplicity. I've found the Buddhist tradition, especially the teachers Thich Nhat Hanh and Bhante Vimalaramsi, very helpful in living well, but I don't think Buddhism is the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
I care deeply about such social and political issues as imperialism, globalization, environmental degradation, poverty, and animal exploitation and abuse.

For anyone who likes horseback riding on the beach, scaling le Tour d'Eiffel, or watching Oprah episodes, crying, and then eating two gallons of chocolate ice cream, then we probably shouldn't go out, because I actually really like doing all those things, so then we'll clash, and you'll be all, "I like Oprah more", when it's obvious that I like her more, and then you'll start smothering me, and I'll have to drown myself in a vat of Rocky Road, or key your car and inform you that I actually preferred vanilla ice cream this whole time, so you'll be inconsolable.
Ok, now that I got that off my chest, let's see... Well, if you can't tell from above, I'm fairly sarcastic, definitely enjoy joking around with friends. I'm generally calm and easygoing, although Bill O'Reilly gets me choked up with tears and/or vomit, from time to time. Pretty adventurous as well, I probably spend half my weekends going some place.
As for day to day stuff, I keep pretty busy during the day as a mental health professional and by night, I avenge crime, or strip for cash to pay back my student loans. I'm in a couple of volleyball leagues and play some pickup as well.
I love to watch football, and I'm a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan but can watch most teams and sports, as there's no teams I really hate, except the Cowboys, with a fiery, fiery passion.
Lastly, I come from a big family, and we're pretty tight. I'm pretty spiritual, into meditation, and go to an alternative church a couple times a month. It's kind of a Buddhist, Sufi, Hindu mix so it works for me and has similar values as that of a billion Indians or so.

You know that feeling when you can't just help yourself because it brings you so much joy - whether it's eating a whole half gallon of chocolate chip mint ice cream in one sitting, staying up until the sun is about to come up watching crappy B-Movies from the 80's, rolling around on the ground with kids or pets carrying on like a complete fool - well those are the kinds of experiences that I look for in life and, in particular, the person I am going to find to spend the rest of my life with. I am often told I am very youthful in both my appearance as well as outlook on life as I try to squeeze the most out of life that I can. I have a pretty high energy level, which means I hit the ground running in the morning but wind down nicely by evening for chill time. I believe that similar values and priorities are key to any relationship - whether professional or personal - and I'm looking for someone with those similar to mine - respectful, big hearted, sincere, courteous, caring, understanding, considerate. One should put one's self in other people's shoes and treat them like you would like to be treated. I have an extremely strong desire to grow as a person throughout my life, and thus am always looking for new, fulfilling experiences, and am looking for someone like this as well - otherwise I land up tiring of them in time (and why wouldn't one?). I am a strong, independent person, although everyone can use someone's help and support from time to time, and want a woman who is strong and independent as well. I like the ocean and the mountains. I like to travel internationally and around our own country. I like good music, regardless of the genre - from hipster rock to lounge to house to classical to r&b. Prefer to play sports rather than watch, when watching I prefer live to TV. I am into modern furniture and design, particularly sustainable design - absolutely no colonial american! I would say I'm a down-to-earth, open-minded, optimistic, kind, friendly, fun-loving, compassionate, kind-hearted and sensitive person. I love to expand myself through knowledge and awareness. Intellectual stimulation is very important to me and I love learning-- both through books and experience. I'm more of an introvert, in the sense that I often prefer to engage in solitary activities, but I also greatly enjoy connecting with people.
If I had to sum up what I care about most in three concepts, it would be:
1. growth/improvement
2. balance
3. being of service and being kind
I love meditating, reading, exercising (pilates, yoga, running, hiking), traveling, attending dance/theater/music performances, laughing, and just generally experiencing life. I mostly look at life with curiosity and excitement.
In many ways, I have a dual personality. I can be very goofy and playful, but also extremely serious and responsible, depending on the context. Perhaps the biggest duality (to others, at least) is that I'm deeply interested in both the pursuit of spiritual wisdom, as well as the rational pursuit of knowledge through science. And I never quite fit in with the 'spiritual' or 'science' crowds at either extreme.
Another thing worth mentioning is that I'm very interested in natural health and healing, alternative medicine, nutrition, etc. Basically, exploring ways to optimize one's habits so as to remain healthy, physically and emotionally.

I think I'm a bit of a mixed bag...in a good way. I take the world seriously enough to recognize my own privileges and therefore aim to make contributions to the world to remedy inequalities and injustices where and when I can. It is a life practice for me, and so I have chosen to incorporate this attitude into my professional and volunteer life, as well as my daily living (as best I can). I also have the capacity to take the world lightly, though, and in that manner I like to laugh and play and be silly and lighten the load a little. I love to dance, hike, run, camp, generally take in the outdoors, and go adventuring on my bike (also my means of transportation). I have a big family that lives nearby and lots of dear friends who make my world worthwhile. My life is very full and rather charmed, I suppose. What I am missing, though, is a steady life companion with whom I'd like to share these things--to take the world on together, with excitement and humility, humor and hard work.

I'm open to becoming a huge sports fan, and, with the right encouragement, I'll probably paint my face a team's colors and cheer the loudest of all! Is capture the flag a sport? If not, it should be. Lately, I have been craving anything outdoor-adventure-y and obstacle-course-ish. Last, but not least: I'm open to trying new things, unless cats are involved.

Just recently I started up a CSA on my property with a mission to provide high quality organic produce at a reasonable price so that urban low income folks can afford it and strive to live a healthy lifestyle. I love to cook and bake all things vegan. My passions are biking, triathlons, homesteading (to include gardening), being barefoot, learning all that I can and using that knowledge to help others.
I am very social and love hosting potlucks or attending just about anything. Though I tend to enjoy free or very cheap activities. I've been known to make my own random fun for the sake of putting a smile on someones face.
I do attend church regularely and would consider my faith an important aspect of my life.
Video games, tv, and watching excessive movies are some things I abhore. It's great to relax every now and again but even down time should mostly be productive (spending time with others, playing board games, etc.) and not just vegetative.
I love to travel and when I travel I tend to favor staying with local folks and seeing places from a different angle than the typical tourist.

I am an animal rights advocate who has rescued several animals and live with my several cats and a dogs. I've had to draw the line and am far from a "hoarder." I am compassionate, not crazy and can't stand to see animals suffer. I am heavily into animal rescue. I also feed, trap and neuter feral cats on a weekly basis and try to place them in loving new homes. I am also a singer with a wedding band and I have an original music project in which I write and sing all of the vocal lyrics and melody. I'm a pretty outgoing individual and I love trying new things. I love watching movies, all genres, and the same applies to music. I enjoy dancing/listening to blues music and to progressive bluegrass such as the mandolin-playing of Sam Bush. I saw Newgrass Revival in 1975 and just loved the energy of their music. I also like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, earlier Joni Mitchell music and Bonnie Raitt. It's fun to hear new music also and I still like classic rock and oldies on occasion. I fell in love with the movie "Once," whose title song "Falling Slowly" won an Oscar that year. I also enjoy the music of Randy Newman, Loudon Wainwright III and his son Rufus Wainwright, especially his version of "Hallelujah" which usually makes me cry when I hear it.

I'm drug, alcohol, & tobacco free, do not eat meat or fowl, maybe once a week a piece of fish. Been off sugar, white flower, processed foods, canned goods for years. I do an occasional canned soup, some beans, but that's pretty much it. Practiced kundalini yoga for years, meditate, gym regularly, generally try to take care of myself & do the right thing.
14 months ago I was bitten by a brown recluse spider & it almost killed me. I've rebounded miraculously, This has prompted me to go as organic as I can. I still consume a small amount of fish, cheese, butter, & eggs, but could give it up in an eyeblink. I've recently bought Norwalk cold press juicer, an amazing piece of equipment. I highly recommend it. I'm a good man, looking for good woman, one who enjoys the healthy lifestyle, being cared for & reciprocates. Let's eat good, live good, love good. I'm interested in growing my own food, but living in a townhouse forces me to use my roofdeck as a garden. I think this the wave of the future.

I'm an Anthropology student at Temple University with a concentration in archaeology. However, these days I've been doing a lot of studies in regards to evolutionary theory and cultural anthropology. I pride myself on having an open mind and I'll generally try anything at least once as long as I see a reason for doing so. I always think things through and nothing is ever a cut and dry process, maybe this is the anthropologist in me, lol, but I like looking at things from all angles. Cooking is one of my greatest passions in life. It tends to be very therapeutic for me. I once considered going to culinary school, but with my kitchen experience, I think it's better suited as a passionate hobby rather than a be all end all career for me. I'm a quirky one to pin down.
I guess my shining highlight is my creativity. You could lock me up in a room with no movies, by myself, all day long and I could probably keep myself entertained just fine for hours... although music is very imporatant to me- it provides a backdrop for visuals and fantasies.
I enjoy car customization, Japanese anime/Hong Kong flicks, music to move/jog/dance/karaoke to, cooking (but not too often- I am a dieter unfortunately- but when I cook- I'm righteous dude!), occasionally drinking (I'm being honest), hiking/camping (although I don't do that nearly enough, I wanna start doing it more), fitness (used to box, but now I just jog/lift weights), and probably a ton of other things I'm leaving out and not representing myself well with.
I am tomboyish, yet not the kind where you need to do a physical check to make sure I am a female. I like personal space which some may view as bad, but I say it's actually healthy.

I love hiking, the woods, more woods, mountains, did I mention being outside in the woods? I do not watch TV though I do like movies but I prefer live theatre, museums, and the ballet. I love yoga and I love to walk and hike outdoors. One of my favorite things to do is just walk around and take in the sites, people watch, and find hidden gardens and murals.
