I have always been a maverick in this world--an empath, a sensitive, unable to engage the "normal" aspects of living that most do, and always questioning established norms that are rooted in inequality and separatist thinking.
In 2021, I took a year-long sabbatical and was "called" to engage intense inner spiritual work. I read the book titled A Course in Miracles, and it was the single-most transformative piece I have ever engaged. It reframed everything, erased the conservative, patriarchal Baptist bullshit (can I say that here?! ; ) I was raised with--really, indoctrinated with--and I began to heal inner wounds and unlove, with zero outside guidance. It was me, God, and the visions and information that would present as I prayed and meditated. Love was always the Guiding Force. There was no judgement, just the divine witnessing of everything that bubbled up from within me (things I had chosen that were against Unity or even things from my ancestors, the collective, past lives and existences, etc.).
It was a wild time! I'm still engaging that process, as it is my calling. The work is never done! All I want is to be Love. To engage myself and others in Love. To advance Love.
What I have always grappled with is how to interact with a world that is so unloving. I've learned how to establish divine boundaries and refuse those who won't walk the Path. I cannot dim my light to oblige souls not choosing to love and respect themselves, others, the world they inhabit.
I have never been into politics. It guides worldly constructs and systems, and that just isn't my forte. However, I feel this is a new era, of sorts, and Donald Trump and conservative Republicans are repulsive. Their guiding philosophies are egoic and dark and favor a particular subset of the population. They are looking to establish a suffocating authoritarian theocracy, destroying democracy. I have no interest in engaging people who support Trump or Republicans on any level, other than praying Light over them.

I spend a lot of time outdoors. I kayak, hike, bike, birdwatch, and love meeting all my wild neighbors. The year before Covid I took my first surfing lesson. Although I did ride a couple of waves all the way in I mostly practiced falling. I got quite good at it. I was hoping to get back to practice more of the not falling part. But Covid got in the way. Hopefully this year I can try again with the help of a new competent president and vaccines.
I write and advocate for causes I care about and have had some successes. The circus no longer comes to my town, there's a beautiful preserved forest that does NOT have a cell phone tower, there's a large city park where ALL smoking is banned.....
My favorite issues are environmental, animal rights, and those concerning poverty and human rights. I think in another life I must have been a peasant in a peasant uprising.
This might seem odd but for fun I collect trash. My kayak often looks more like a garbage scow as I gather plastics and other trash while kayaking on the river and at the beach. I mostly just find trash but I've found some interesting stuff too, including something the bomb squad had to blow up on the spot. I'm still waiting to find either a briefcase full of half a million dollars of drug money no one claims or a chest of pirate's treasure sticking half out of a sandbar.
I love gardening... for wildlife, for food, for beauty, organically, and with native plants.
