As a teenager I made it my intention to live a life in which I did not look forward to getting drunk on the weekend, I never want to wish any of my working days to hurry up and finish-that would be wishing part of my life away and I realised that long ago too. I think I have been very successful up to now in avoiding such ways by enjoying doing different types of work which i get paid and different types of work I don't get paid for-I don't have chores as i enjoy cleaning and getting food and other life activities, I enjoy a lot of things I do, seeing them as valuable in themselves as experiences. I have loved working with kids and wish to do this a lot more.
I love mending, making and repurposing things and practices of living simply. I have done some talks and a few articles on this subject. In many ways I live simply, this primarily being so others can simply live; and I earn less, buy less,trash less and because of this I think I have a beautiful life in many ways.

What a platform to start a conversation here. I certainly agree that animal research for vaccines is wrong, wrong, wrong. Sometimes we have to go outside our comfort zone. I am sure if I were younger, I would stand by morals and not take a vaccine that may contain animal and has been tested on animals. I guess we all go through phases at different times in our lives and sometimes our views change. In Islam, their belief is that if you consume an animal, and it is prayed over, it will be used for wellness and holiness in the person consuming it.

In theory, I practice presence / mindfulness and try to avoid speaking through ego. In reality, I'm outwardly a normal human being, totally not perfect, and I have my unconscious moments, too.
It would be great to find someone who shares a similar desire to be more conscious and is willing to both give and take helpful reminders when we start to slip up. I just don't see myself loving someone who doesn't care about killing / eating animals. For many of us, being a veggie is so much more than simply a diet.
I'm a former airline pilot changing careers (not by choice). My highly profitable airline was bought out, suddenly unexpectedly closed, the airline pilot retirement age was raised from 60 to 65 (no attrition for five years), and the economy was horrible. I sure miss flying the Boeing 727...the feeling of 48,000 pounds of thrust at my fingertips is difficult to duplicate! The beauty of the Earth from above is so breathtaking. A scratch in my eye from a brand new contact lens has cost me the career I so enjoyed. I went back to school and obtained my LPN, but have not used it yet due to a number of family tragedies. I had been taking care of my vegan Mom full time. Congestive heart failure is no fun. She fought a valiant battle, but is no longer with me. Now I am working on getting my house ready for sale to move into my parents (a few acres and a swimming pool).
I love music - tastes range from classical to oldies (Sinatra) to alternative, but I especially enjoy acoustic Latin / Mediterranean guitar. Hammocks - such a simple invention, but so relaxing! Canoeing, boating, bicycling, experiencing nature, tennis, or even throwing a Frisbee are all fun fair weather activities.
Based on my profile, you probably wouldn't guess I love to laugh, and joke around often. Sometimes my delivery is too dry for people to realize I'm joking...love watching the five second delay as someone gets it! I also enjoy a nice cuddle, going for walks, deep, and not so deep discussions.

Hello. I'm a potter. I love ceramics, I collect, research and deal in antique ceramics, as well as having my own pottery studio.

I have hundreds of tools and machines. I love making things. I invent, design, create. I'm artistic but also technical.
I have two daughters (17 + 19) who don't live with me.
I have 1000's of books, but I sold off my sci-fi books and novels to make more room for my ceramics books.
I feel things deeply and I cry when my heart is broken. I have a purple belt in Shotokan Karate. I stand up for myself and for others. I am nobody's master, I am nobody's servant.
I laugh out loud often - especially at myself (and my dancing).
I'm working on several research projects about antique ceramics. The ultimate goal is to find meaning in existence... and love? Maybe they are the same thing?
I'm painfully honest and I cannot live with or understand dishonesty. I also value: Compassion, Truth, Beauty, And Pots, (I know, weird, but the I Ching said I was "the guardian of the sacred vessels" and it was spot on).
I spend a lot of time thinking about the meaning of existence. Why is there something, rather than nothing? I think about everything.
I do not like religions but I am agnostic rather than atheist - I have a very deep distrust of all organised religion. I see the Dao / Tao / god in everything and nothing. I am often filled with wonder at existence.
I've had a very hard life. Seriously. And I've often been told that I should put my life story into a book.
I have however also had two years of professional therapy, which did wonders to overcome the damage. I embrace the world without fear. I'm very far from perfect, but I am comfortable in myself.
You should also know that... My teeth are terrible (I broke a front tooth whilst playing on a child's scooter) but nothing a dentist couldn't fix...
I've never been unfaithful - I know, not very exciting, but true.

Being retired at the age of sixty. I used to work in the hi-tech industry and also work as a part-time English teacher.
I once saw a film depicting the killing of baby cock by chicken farmers just because they needed only the pullets to lay eggs. I was so shocked by how they killed the chicks. To supply sufficient eggs and milk to humankind, chickens and cattle are raised in a poor condition so that they are short-lived than they ought to be. It is the same situation with bees. More than 70% of the world's top 100 crops rely on bees for pollination though. Cattle milk and honey are supposed to be the food for calves and bees, not for humankind. We, humankind, have alternatives to supply ourselves with adequate food and nutrients without hurting animals. In addition, livestock agriculture contributes significantly to global carbon emission. To satisfy humankind’s unlimited desire with the benefits from fishery, overfishing has caused the decrease of fish species and hampered biodiversity.
The world is changing constantly with human behavior and will also change with the change of human behavior.
Hopefully, I have the chance here to get acquainted with vegan people with whom I can share values, perspectives and life experiences and learn together. And I wish to meet someone that I can bare my soul to and hand in hand grow older together.

I'm a vegan with about 75% raw vegan. 25 years ago I thought most people would be vegetarian by now. Instead, there seem to be even fewer vegetarians these days, even with all the information out there supporting the choice.
I like to have fun out in the world but also being a "homebody" sometimes too. I love the mountains, forests and animals. My favorite place to be is in a thick evergreen forest.. So far I prefer home equipment over going to a gym but that might depend on having an exercise partner or not. I like to do a lot of different things, even if not that often such as bowling, miniature golf, skating, hiking, skiing. I'm also into astronomy, architecture and going to home shows. I have traveled a few different spiritual paths along the way but now am into pantheism (reverence to the universe). I would prefer a partner that I can converse about spirituality or God - even if we are not on the same path.
I do not like politics, nothing spiritual about that. Most politicians are corrupt regardless of the D or R party. I believe in the Constitution as-is. I am conservative (but not Republican...to me, there is a difference these days).

I work at a financial firm in Chicago. Enjoy what I do but on an endeavor to do something more creative, something that is more fulfilling, meaningful and widely serving.

Much has changed in my life in the past 5 years, and now I am looking forward to the age of retirement, in a country that has taken my money over the years and spent it elsewhere. So the coming “retirement” will be more of a reinvention as I move from the “Big City” to a more self sufficient lifestyle.
If you too are thinking of a plant-based life with less stress, communing with nature, and being more creative, we may have a connection and that would be great. Not talking off-grid, I have to have Internet and lights, just a much smaller community that still holds values I did 30-40 years ago.

Here is some things about me ... I dislike this part as is sounds like I'm boasting, and that is not normal for me. Here are some of the personal highlights of my 50 plus years off the top of my head, and things like education and employment are not in there ;)
- I have toured Europe, East and West, in the Early 80s in a punk band
- Have created sculptures and artwork that sold and is publicly displayed
- Worked as an assignment photographer for two newspapers and a news magazine
- Own my own record label, and have composed and recorded nine complete albums
- Along with friends, and supporters have started two totally different charities
- Built my own home from the ground up with my own hands
- Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and slept with giraffes
- Cycled and walked across all of Europe
... and none of these, or any one thing in my past defines me, because I believe that every day is a new one that holds endless possibilities, fun and adventure. Most of all no one should ever be limited by anything. Given enough time, effort and determination human beings can do amazing things, all of us.

Well-rounded, eclectic and baggage-free describes me well. At any point I have several things on the go requiring a wide range of skills and aptitudes. I was originally, and still am, qualified as an accountant although, apart from a pro-bono audit of a little Buddhist charity every year, I have not regularly done any accounting for quite some time.
The daily yoga and meditation I practise and everything else I do are spontaneously guided and effortless. Yoga has given me a strong and supple body with a spirit to match that belie my age. If someone I am with is ready for it, then I have an uncanny talent for facilitating cathartic releases after which old baggage of the past is released forever in a safe and nourishing way.
Friends sometimes describe me as slightly eccentric which is taken as a compliment....but I'm not sure that's entirely correct. Certainly I'm healthily unpredictable, acutely intuitive, sometimes non-conformist in a conservative way and a little Machiavellian. On balance I'm probably intellectual with a dry philosophical sense of humour that is never at anyone else's expense. I can be chatty and cheerful while at other times intense and focused.
I prefer intimate one-on-one situations and steer clear of noisy places and crowds. Simple pursuits are more to my liking. I am dedicated to the people around me including allowing them space where space is needed.
I've described myself as a non-drinker as one alcoholic drink per month is about the limit of my enjoyment in that regard....call that what you will.
My style is relaxed and informal and my timeless spirit always shines through. Compliments from women about my eyes and my smile are not uncommon.
