| I'd been moving gradually to more healthy eating from the typical SAD; when the COVID quarantine happened, I took that time to eliminate the final 2 non-vegan elements in my then diet: eggs & dairy. Over time I've become more not just health-conscious but more interested in animal welfare and climate issues. |

| I am in the middle of a friendly divorce, but my spouse still lives in my home ala roommates while we “consciously uncouple.” I am a first-time cat guardian with Jake, an 8 year old orange cat. I work an average of 50 hours a week now but the lease on my building expires in 2027, at which point I will be scaling back into semi-retirement. I enjoy nature walks, visiting historically, artistic, or architecturally significant locations or camping in national parks, enjoying nature, as opposed to sitting on a beach or vacations to "do nothing," which, in fact, would be a worst nightmare scenario for me. I like a variety of music, which, along with a few podcasts, I typically listen to in the evening. I am an introvert, although many people don't realize this as I'm not socially awkward. I keep a small circle of friends and don't typically like huge events. Every day I try to spend an hour reading, exercising, and meditating. There’s a lake nearby, so I like to walk around it to spend time in the woods and see the birds, small animals, and various plants. I like playing cards, including bridge, although I would need a refresher, and better board games. I lived in San Francisco for 10 years and actively participated in all of the cultural events that amazing city had to offer, but life in suburban PA is very different than that in SF, so I rarely participate in cultural events now. I am not super-picky about food, but Indian and sushi rank highest with Thai close behind as far as meals out, while I mostly cook Italian or generic at home – lots of salads, soups, beans, and whole grains. My favorite comedian wasn’t listed among the choices: Jake Johannsen. I have a single tattoo on my right shoulder blade, received from a friend, who wanted to give me a present for college graduation, but she didn’t have a job, but her husband was a tattoo artist; it is a replication of John Tenniel’s Mad Hatter from Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland.” |
| I'm Looking For |
| I would want you to have a focus on doing what is right and good, regardless of what is expedient or popular, which probably isn't too big of an ask for a vegan. I'm looking for an open-minded, liberal-leaning or libertarian person, who is plant-based, to partner with me for however much longer we both have. I'm considering trying to install solar and wind power while growing most of my own food and would like to have someone with me to work on this project, but I would settle for a large backyard garden with berry vines and some fruit trees, if I found the right person who didn't share this renewable energy dream. I would like a quiet life, for the most part, with the occasional afternoon/night out. I like to travel and would want my partner to join me. Mostly, in a partner, we would need to have a good mix of similarities to share and differences to explore with kindness and compassion ruling each day. |
