Why I'm Vegetarian
**My choice was about aligning my values with my actions.** Seeing the reality of **factory farming** made me feel deeply uncomfortable. I realized that to eat meat, I was supporting a system that caused immense, industrialized **suffering** to animals. It became a moral conflict I couldn't ignore. Becoming vegetarian was the clearest, most direct way for me to remove my financial support from that cycle. I always knew a whole-food, plant-based diet was best for me. I took the plunge and cut out meat. When I started eating more **vegetables, legumes, and grains.** The results were undeniable. I felt lighter and my energy levels stabilized. For me, vegetarianism is a powerful and successful strategy for **long-term health and vitality.** I had also been procrastinating on reducing my personal **carbon footprint** for a while. There was a time when I spent a couple of years doing what I could to reduce my consumption of things I really didn't need. Being a vegetarian has kept my conscious clear with regards to greenhouse gas emissions like methane. I realized one day that all of things I was against were for real reasons - I was harming myself and the planet by not making one simple decision. The decision itself was easy at that point and it seemed like the single most impactful lifestyle change I could make. Choosing plant-based meals became a daily, conscious choice. I don't even consciously think about the foods I eat, nor do I punish myself for not doing the right thing. I don't feel the need anymore. Now, onto the next thing.
More About Me
I think I'm pretty awesome. That's actually more important than a lot of people may think.
I'm Looking For
I am looking for a vegetarian. I think vegetarians are more consistently thoughtful and kind. That's the starting point - I don't have a particular 'type' other than being a "good human."
