| Why I'm Vegan |
| Sixty years ago, when I was ten, I had a Catechism instructor who did a great job of teaching the Golden Rule. I've since really believed in it. Fifty-something years ago, I began to hear Paul and Linda talking about not eating animals. Right around then, I was in my dorm at the University of Connecticut. Some guy came in and suggested that we all get high and go watch them slaughter pigs, which happened on the second Tuesday of the month (or whatever it was) over at the ag school. I got high with them and we trooped over to the ag school to watch them slaughter a bunch of pigs. I was never the same after that experience. Shortly after graduating, I became a vegetarian. 24 years ago, I became vegan. |

| I'm a politically progressive retired library school instructor and long-time children's book reviewer. I'm a vegan Deadhead who spends my time reading and writing, walking 4-5 miles a day, and shopping and preparing great meals. I have been passionate about music since being turned on to the Beatles in 1963. I've been an environmentalist since Boy Scouts in the Sixties. I pray daily that Donald Trump is removed from this planet ASAP. I don't drink or smoke. My vice is consuming edibles twice a week. Music is always involved. |
