| I was 14 and my mum got me a Saturday job at Brian Fazey's butchers in my home town Kenilworth, I went in ready to earn a wage not thinking about how it may effect me. I think it was the smell as much as the half carcasses hanging in the freezers that did it for me, it just wasn't right. I've been a metal basher for years now and I can always get rid of the smell out my nose but working there for just one day a week was horrible, I can still remember the smell even now, the smell of death. I guess thanks to mother for making me a better person and not being part of the mass cruelty and wastage that is the dairy and meat industry today! I don't buy or wear leather if I can avoid it, most unfortunately I haven't found anyone who will sell me faux leather welding gauntlets so I am very careful with my one pair which I have had for a good number of years now and they are called Daisy, I thank Daisy every time she protects me till I can get someone to make me a pair or end getting my sewing machine out and having a go... |

| More about me, well above all I'm a creative tinkerer, I love making stuff, anything really from cars to buildings, building a computer or doing the graphics on a vehicle. I am now self employed and have worked with loads of different people on all sorts of stuff, I had the privilege to make the Queens torch for her 90th birthday which is very much my claim to fame. I love listening to music, not the run of the mill stuff though, something a bit different is always best for me and yes, I'm aware I'm old and the kids stuff is crap! :) I enjoy time with my family and friends, a bit of exercise, learning new things - every day is most definately a school day! Helping people out, helping myself out by taking time for meditation and trying to be mindful on my journey. |
