| “I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.” – Robert Frost I think it is a fair telling to say that in my seven plus decades of life, I have taken the road less traveled by, and for me, that has made all the difference. For much of my adult life, I earned my living as an outlaw cannabis farmer only to retire a few years ago after 30 years. In that time, I designed and built my own home on ten wooded acres in Northern California, and along the way I adopted a vegan diet and devoted myself to environmental and animal rights activism. About 20 years ago I began writing a progressive op-ed column for my local newspaper and I recently published a book about how the modern human animal-rich diet is not only the leading cause of chronic degenerative diseases like atherosclerosis, diabetes and cancers, but raising livestock to feed our habit is also the single largest contributor to global warming and mass species extinction in the world today. These days I spend most of my time reading, writing, gardening, organizing, and enjoying the company of my beloved canine companion, Fancy. From 1978 to 2005 (27 years) I was married to a wonderful woman and we lived happily together in a mutually supportive relationship until she died tragically from a rare form of bone cancer. Over the years since, I have adjusted to living alone and I am not lonely, but there are times when I miss the sense of trust that can only be found in an intimate relationship. That is why I am here on this website. I must confess that at this stage of my life, I approach trying to find an intimate partner with some trepidation. I am attracted to the idea of having a partner who appreciates me as I am, but I do not want to invite a woman into my life who is intent on doing a make-over on me. |

Being an ethical vegan in a meat-eating culture can be depressing, so I hope you have been able to find some joy and happiness in your life and that you are at peace with yourself.
