Why I'm Vegan
I became veggie for metaphysical, health and compassion reasons pretty much all at once as a pre-teen that was going through a series of extraordinary (wonderful, mostly) wake-up experiences. Having leading edge fine arts parents was crucial as well. Mom's mystic discoveries plus my Dad's worldly influences, (had us tour a Chicago meat packing plant) along with my general dislike of most animal foods to begin with, made that part of the "sacrifice" easier. Had a bit of a struggle against certain school and business peers (bullies too) and other status quo sentinels, (how about you?) that has gotten easier. Armed with some pretty wide reaching paradigms/ cosmologies at such an early age, allowed me to bypass many of the quagmires of youth: drugs, sex, alcohol, smoking, tattoos, dramatic accidents, depression, etc. The stigma of being different did impel me into certain compensation strategies such as being class clown, doing martial arts, being more intellectually iconoclastic. Around 2009, I'd learned so much more about dairy, that I've pretty much made the move to vegan. (Do a yogurt ice-cream on occasion).
More About Me
Attempting to live a balanced life has led me into many paradigms in realms from fine art, science, spirituality and philosophy to alternative health, pedagogy (Waldorf), anthropology-shamanism, psychology, appropriate technology, biodynamic gardening, -- (dance, sculpture, drawing, education, healing via sound, yoga, meditation, trumpet, etc.) I feel that that and my Gemini intellectual curiosity has led me to become a kind of cosmic renaissance generalist. I love exploring the leading edge of old and new paradigms (New Dimensions Radio, Institute of Noetic Sciences, TheMonroeIns titute, Machaelle Wright's PerelandraNa tureIntelli gences work, books like Goswami's "The SelfAw areUniverse", Yurts, ArtSci Guyathotm Ail,TeePees, AlternativeRa dio, Coast To Coast AM, Anthroposophy, Drunvalo's Flower of Life, BBC's Radio-4 philosophers, AmyGoodman's DemocracyNow!, self help bks like Gray's Mars-Venus on Relationships, and Why You Aren't Mar ried...Yet, by Tracy McMillan, and Dr.Joel Fuhrman on Vegan eating, etc.) So veggieness kept me from drifting into the tribal sleep so much while as artist/ educators, we moved through varying strata of society, but prefer a more balanced, do-it-yourself lifestyle with a peaceful, beautiful home-base with country-nature privacy (a la English garden homestead).
I'm Looking For
I'm Looking for a healthy, truth/spirituality evolving life-mate who can keep up her end of most any intellectual conversation and has many interests and especially likes exploring the fringes of the known; sharing with dialogue as one prime avenue. I am looking for a "matched dance partner" as well, who has taken care of herself too, and is capable of more the top 4 couples' level "Dancing With The Stars" or learning that type of co-creative syntony, but appreciates the artistry of "So You Think You Can Dance." Philosophies of ballroom dance keep changing: "the music leads," "the man "proposes" & frames the woman" (direction/ speed), "the woman now is the major exhibit--"disposes"/ (decides the extent-to-completion/ embellishment-style), etc, yet I can usually inspire a very quick and easy learning curve (the opposite found in most studios). The sooner both can fly, the sooner we can soar to new heights together. I also like rollerblading, biking, photo-hiking, swimming, kayaking, reading, sci-fi films --Avatar, Trek, Avengers, Matrix, Harry Potter, Lilo & Stitch (as well as much of what Roger Ebert recommended), super-hero graphic novels, making fine art--sculpture, writing, drawing, etc. While searching for a career led to my B.S. in Social Studies, & a 2ndary Teacher Cert; my livelihood has let me into 2 decades of computer jobs, which venue I've mostly left for more creative endeavors and so have taken courses in video production/ editing, bioacoustic and sonic healing, teaching ballroom dance, neutraceutical virtual franchises and other projects (while still keeping the job that carries my benefits (which I mainly use for dental/vision)). I am eagerly awaiting connecting with that caring woman who has kept her inner child vital and can happily synergize with the above and commence our sharing discoveries and trek deeper into that undiscovered country of awe and wonder together!!
