| Why I'm Vegetarian |
| My motivation to become vegetarian was in not wanting to contribute to any animal cruelty. I stopped eating red meat, chicken and fish in the mid 1980s but still ate dairy and eggs. Once I found out about the animal cruelty involved in the dairy and egg industries I went vegan. With the exception of the occasional high-end pastry, I stick to my vegan intentions. |

| I enjoy learning, and the feeling of discovery. Engaging conversations are my staff of life. Sharing a joy, accomplishment or experience is meaningful. My precious pets warm my heart like little else. Casual hiking, and leisure biking are fun. I get a kick out of indoor go-cart riding. Local jaunts and get-ways are great. I also like museums, live events, concerts, parties, comedy, plays, and various gatherings. I like to read fiction and am mostly drawn to mystery thrillers. My non-fiction interests are commonly in the memoir genre. I enjoy movies (anything but horror) and documentaries. Some of the drama TV shows I watch are Madame Secretary, The Blacklist, How to Get Away with Murder, Bull and the NCIS series. Other shows include The Daily Show, Late Night, The Late Show, and 60 minutes. I'm a Humanist, which also includes not believing in supernatural beings like gods. My politics are progressive. My lifestyle is vegetarian/vegan. My friends needn’t share those things. I’m open and communicative and find these traits/skills are essential in my friendships. My core value is integrity. I loathe drama and apathy. I’m very handy, fix and build things, and sew the occasional project. I find gardening interesting but haven’t delved into it yet. |
