| I have been a vegetarian for 32 years but had a weight problem. I lost weight eating animal products briefly (four months) and tried to convince myself that my body needed meat to function well. I recently watched Cowspiracy and have come to a resounding conclusion: if I have to eat more vegetables in order to keep my metabolism running well, I will do that instead of consuming any animal products. This movie was a true awakening for me! I cannot ignore what meat and dairy consumption does to our earth and the lives of the whole world! Ironically I have owned a raw food, and recently cooked as well, vegan restaurant for over 10 years. I grew it from nothing and it is a very popular place in my town. |

| I'm an artist at heart, a business person for all practical purposes. I have been self-employed since I was 23. I don't think I have ever been able to learn to play the game of corporate America. I am neither conservative nor liberal, in my opinion. I am who I am and sometimes I'm not sure who that is myself! I surprise myself with my own thoughts but I am also not much of a spontaneous person. I like to be sure before I jump. I love new ideas be it technology or philosophy and everything in between. I have tested and retested and I continue to be an INTP in the Meyers Briggs test. I’m not easy to understand but when I warm up to someone they have a friend for life. If you are looking for someone who is a little quirky, friendly and talkative at times, quiet and somewhat reserved at times, you might like me. I am always a few things...loyal, trustworthy, honest, generous, compassionate, empathetic. Along with that, I have had to learn to stand up for myself sometimes because too many people consider kindness a weakness. I don't think I could run a business if I were too soft. I live my life from a spiritual basis rather than from a materialistic one by choice. I appreciate nice things but I know that things don't make a person permanently happy. I've been meditating since I was 19. I have my own beliefs. This is very important to me. I am not attuned to any form of organized religion and don't identify with deity. I can be classified as Pagan, Hindu, Buddhist, Agnostic, Atheist, Taoist and others. The truth is that I am nothing and everything. I don't believe in a God outside myself and trust my own truth for guidance and the passion I have in my life. I like to think of “God” as an energy we cannot deny. In a relationship, I am a little independent but I also like to get my partner's opinion before making major decisions. I am not interested in many sports. I prefer yoga and t'ai chi to football or the Olympics. Although I like TV, I prefer foreign films. I like drama over violence. I am a steadfast companion. I'm looking for a friendship that may develop into something deeper. I want a relationship but I am not prepared to settle down with someone unless they are really right for me. |

| I'm Looking For |
| I am inspired by real love, the kind that makes you find your partner's faults charming and endearing and makes you love them more for their humanness. Loving someone with everything you are--with joy and completely and unconditionally, that's what I am looking for. I still live in Florida but I purchased a home in Madrid, NM in August of 2013 Right now I'm just trying to get my business sold here so I can go. It’s funny how life throws curve balls. My home in NM was burglarized a few times so now I have a new roof and four walls and new electrical wiring but my copper pipes, heating and kitchen stove have been removed. Also my windows are all cracked. I kept pushing to move but things kept getting jumbled up. Now my cafe is surrounded by major construction. I expect an offer by an investment company or the hotel itself to entice me to move out. My landlord appears to be in negotiation to sell the building already. It’s all that is stopping me from making my New Mexico dream a reality. I live my life in gratitude and try to live each day as it comes. I worry less, I stay present and I stay positive. I stay attuned to nature and the natural cycles of things. It's important to me to be with someone who lives the same lifestyle. I'm not so much a girly-girl - I'm more practical than egotistical and I can't figure out why someone would primp for 2 hours to go out for 2 hours...I think I'd rather dress in 30 minutes (of course I want to look nice and I have great hygiene) and spend 3 hours out instead. Finally if you have STDs please be HONEST! I don’t have anything that makes me scratch and I don’t want someone to make this decision for me. If a relationship gets that far where intimacy seems to be the next step, I will get a blood test and expect the same from a potential partner. Just common sense in this day and age - and seniors are one of the highest groups for STDs in the country! Just FYI although condoms help, the chance of contracting any number of STDs is still alarmingly high and utmost consideration and respect is warranted and reciprocated. |
