Why I'm Vegan
I know that animal possess the exact emotions as humans. Hunger, pain, jealousy, fear, etc. etc. All the usual reasons for being vegan such as environmental, health, cruelty to animals, and so forth. No interest in sports (didn't watch the Supebowl, even though the "Stillers" participated.) Can't stand "dubya" (lower case to indicate disrespect), loathed reagan, intensely dislike rush "limp-paw." Don't identify myself as a Christian (raised Catholic) anymore, as Christians only seem to care about people and not the earth, not to mention a number of other concerns, such as environment, animals, disrespect towards women in certain ways, and on and on....When someone tells me the reason animals exist is because God put them there for us to use for whatever, I like to point out that the Bible has been used to support slavery too, and ask them how they might feel about that issue. Sorry, I'm getting carried away with all this...I can make a pretty good vegan pizza, too.
More About Me
Desperatsly Seeking Vegan. Retired public school teacher living in the backward, provincial, Southwestern Pennsylvania area. Vegan for 20 years. Don't understand why others aren't at least vegetarian, when they say they "love life" and other drivel. Why do people name their children names like "Tanner," "Cooper," and "Parker?" Not to mention, "Hunter?" I mean, why not call them the real thing, i.e. "Hyde dyer," "Barrel Maker," "One Who Parks," and "Animal Killer?" (Nice names, right?) When I tell my friends and acquaintences that I am ugly, they only respond with, "You are not ugly." They never, however, say that I am good looking. Oh well, such is life.
I'm Looking For
Do you hate clowns and mimes? (Trick question--as I know everybody hates clowns and mimes.) I am looking for a soul to share dinners with at (we don't have vegan in Pgh.) restaurants that have lots of vegetarian choices. Red wine needs to be shared at this time (cabarnet sauvignon preferred).
