| For ethical, moral and health reasons. Years ago I watched a documentary on slaughterhouses which affected me so intensely I chose to give up eating meat. (although I continued eating fish off and on until a few years ago). Now it's hard to imagine consuming anything "that has eyes", as one of my students so aptly put it |

| People tell me I'm funny, caring, generous, big-hearted, and playful. I'm an animal and nature lover as well as a great appreciator of all forms of art. I can be calm & serene or feisty and energetic, silly or serious, quiet or talkative... I enjoy being an advocate for children and childrens' issues. I see myself as an independent free spirit who's creative and sensitive. I enjoy simple pleasures in life: good food, good literature & poetry, stimulating conversation, the ocean & mountains, my cats, my students. When it comes to relationships,I'm very loyal no matter what the nature of the relationship. In the future, I'd like to create some kind of farm or ranch where "stray"/neglected/abused children and animals could mutually heal each other's wounds. If anyone out there has done similar work or knows of someone who is, or is interested in developing this concept, please let me know. |
