| I prefer to live in a beautiful, pleasant environment, and slaughtering and butchering of animals creates what seems to me as being an ugly and unpleasant environment. I view hurting an animal unnecessarily, as being an ugly thing to do. While I can't control everything about my environment, non-participation in slaughter and butchery is a something I can control. The word that I like, for this tool for appreciating oneness, is, in Sanskrit: "shakahara." In addition to striving for good food esthetics, I am also careful to provide my Self with a diet that is nutritionally sound, and I have informed myself about the basics of human nutrition, as well as the basics of green plant nutrition (feeding our food). |

| I like music. To earn a living I now drive a taxi. In the past I have worked as a piano tuner-technician, automobile mechanic, administrative assistant, and computer help-desk technician, among other things. I have training in computer hardware and network administration. I once had a 2000 square foot vegan vegetable garden. Cultivated melons, lettuce, endive, tomatoes, edamame, sweet corn, snap beans, snap peas, salad turnips, collards, and more. I have some photos on my web site. I like the feeling of self-reliance that I get from growing my own food. Same thing in regard to doing motor vehicle repairs, and doing home repairs, including plumbing and electrical, and especially, home heating. |
