| Why I'm Vegan |
| I became a vegan in 1990 for my health, for the health of the planet, and because I love animals. The turning point in my diet was when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I was studying micro-biology at Carnegie-Mellon University at the time, and was frustrated with her oncologists. No one could answer the question, why? Why did she get cancer? We lived a healthy life-style, so I thought. My father, who is a doctor himself, told me that it wasn't the doctor's job to answer why. They diagnose and treat. He said, "You are the scientist, you find out why." That lead me to the discovery of dozens of medical studies showing definitive links between animal-based diets and cancer. Once I realized that eating animal products was not necessary for good health, but in fact harmful, my diet mirrored my ethics. |
| More About Me |
| I live a very active life-style. I owned a martial arts school from October '95- Dec. '16. That was my full-time job. I like to compete in triathlons, adventure races, mud runs, in addition to martial art tournaments. I love to sing (karaoke anyone!) I also like going to the movies. I'm very easy-going and adventurous. I like doing things outdoors (kayaking, SCUBA, birding, snorkeling, sky diving, hiking, mtn biking, etc ... you name it, I'll try it). Not into the bar scene (unless there is karaoke or trivia, haha). I recently moved from Lancaster, PA to Venice, FL which I find to be more veggie-friendly and certainly warmer community (I like being able to train outdoors year-round). |

| Someone to hold hands with ... someone who enjoys PDAs with that special someone ... someone who shares my interests in health and fitness. A life partner that inspires me to be a better man. Someone who likes to travel. A martial artist would be a plus, but not necessary. Down-to-earth, intelligent, attractive, and good sense of humor. If you are materialistic, I'm not your guy. I don't care what car you drive or the label on your clothes. I believe you should use things and cherish people, not the other way around.
