| Why I'm Vegetarian |
| I became a veggie almost 50 years ago for health reasons. Now it is also about animal rights and ecological and environmental reasons. My diet is easy and inclusive, not rigid. I do not eat any animal products and almost no dairy. But occasionally I will have a muffin which includes both eggs and dairy, and once in a long while I may have a slice of pizza (which I almost always regret) which obviously includes dairy. I'm a new arrival in SLO so I am interested in making new friendships which may turn into something more. I would love to find someone within about 20 miles to enjoy the beach with, to explore some of the local hiking trails with, discover some local veggie and vegan restaurants, and maybe take an occasional trip up the coast to visit some vineyards and take in our spectacular Central Coast. I live a short walk from a lovely Park - a great place for a "meet and greet" picnic, to sit on the grass, feed the squirrels and share our stories with one another, to see what we share, and what we might earn from one another. |

| About me: I'm an absurdly young 74 (not 67 as my profile says - I can't seem t change that?) 5'7" tall, medium build, non-smoking, living a fairly healthy lifestyle, a long-time veggie, outgoing, energetic with an acerbic wit and an active intellect. Things women have said about me in no particular order: funny, smart, passionate a good kisser. I'm semi-retired, very communicative and emotionally available, somewhat travelled and cultured, with a cosmopolitan outlook and a down to earth perspective, living in quiet defiance of the norm and traditional expectations. I love kids (but not parenting) and animals (tho I'm deathly allergic to cats) I love to make people laugh. Shared interests and activities would definitely include discovering authentic little neighborhood restaurants, some hiking through the local mountains, sharing a nice bottle of red while making dinner together and watching a movie at home, live music or comedy, a down and dirty blues club. My "no-go" list is tobacco smokers (I'm allergic,) cats (I'm allergic,) Trump supporters (I'm allergic) and "heavy-set" women (no offense intended - just not my thing.) With regard to romance, I like to go slow. While I believe in chemistry and attraction, even more so I believe that the foundations of a relationship – getting to know someone, respect and trust - require time. I am ready to invest that time with the right someone. For a woman with smarts, spirit and imagination and joie de vivre I could be a compliment, a good friend, a lover, and maybe more. |

| I prefer a partner who is smart, her own woman, someone who can stand on her own, who laughs easily, who is not afraid to take the lead, an equal partner who is not interested in always being the submissive woman to my alpha male. As I’ve said I like to do things with a sense of style and panache, as will the woman with whom I connect, whether she is wearing jeans or is dressed for an evening out. I prefer a woman who is put together or at least knows how to occasionally rock a LBD and a pair of heels. This usually means a woman who is on the slender side. (We all have our likes and dislikes - please allow me mine.) Having said that I am far from perfect and I don’t expect to find perfection – just someone who is perfect for me. Everyone has a laundry list - I'll try to keep mine simple. You are available, slim or height-weight proportionate, attractive, non-smoking and live a healthy lifestyle, intelligent, independent, left-leaning, open-minded, adventurous and uninhibited. The deal breakers are: smoking (I'm allergic,) cats (I'm allergic,) Trump supporters and Conservatives (I'm allergic,) and BBW's (just not my thing - no offense intended.) If you have made it this far you may well be as "unique" as I am and we may indeed be a match. I realize that I am not for everyone - who would want to be?
