| Why I'm Vegan |
| I initially became a vegetarian at age 20 for ethical, environmental, and humanist reasons. I was inspired by “Diet for a Small Planet”. I am vegetarian at restaurants and vegan at home, and striving for all-vegan and all-organic. I suspect that will be a lifetime struggle. I am also interested in increasing the amount of raw food in my diet. I have an organic vegetable garden and recently planted a few fruit trees. I’ve had some success and still have lots to learn. |

| Some of the activities I enjoy the most are dancing, hiking, movies, and watching politically liberal (left) documentaries. I think I am caring, gentle, responsible, reliable, and loyal. I am a self-employed mechanical engineer specializing in low-energy building systems, sustainability, energy analysis, high-performance buildings, and systems trouble investigation. I am not traditionally religious, probably best described as a humanist and environmentalist, categories that are not on the typical lists of beliefs. |
