| After not eating much meat for a long time, I became vegetarian about 30 years ago. I can give you lots of justifications for vegetarianism but basically it just felt like the right thing to do - and it still does. |

| I am a friendly, caring, sociable person. I am young at heart and frequently get told that I look young for my age. I have 20 year old twins who are both at university and only live with me in the holidays. This is the first time I have ever lived alone and while I'm coping much better than I expected I miss having someone to share my life with. I'm looking for someone to share some fun activities with - I like eating out, theatre, cinema, art galleries, walking in the countryside and weekends away. Also quiet nights cuddled up with a DVD and a take away. Favourite things - I love foreign food, especially curry and people and things that make me laugh. Music is important to me too, and I have fairly eclectic tastes. One of the great things about having teenage children is the new music they bring into your life. Though I have a degree in psychology I have never been very ambitious and have always worked in 'caring' professions. For the last 11 years I have been supporting Deaf students in a college. I am currently studying for an MA in British Sign Language/English Interpreting and have recently set up as self-employed. |

| I'm looking for someone who is a similar age and holds similar values to myself. I have left-wing/green views (though I'm not particularly interested in party politics). Though I like animals I have a really bad cat allergy, so if you have a cat, a relationship would be out of the question. My ideal date would be tall (though this isn't crucial) and slim (and that pretty much is!) For me, the most important thing in any relationship is to be honest with each other and to talk through any problems. It also helps if you enjoy some of the same things, particularly sharing the same sense of humour.I'm looking for a special, long-term relationship - a 'soulmate'. Beyond that it's hard to say. The chemistry thing is really important - you can have a great long list of characteristics that you are looking for but meet someone who doesn't have any of these but still bowls you over. |
