| Why I'm Vegetarian |
| I became a vegetarian when I was 20 years old. A good friend of mine introduced me to animal rights. I don't eat animals foremost because I do not believe in it, it's cruel, and I don't want to support the meat industry. I also do it for environmental reasons (raising animals for meat in our modern world is one of the worst things for the environment). I saw the devastating effects the cattle industry has on the rain forests when I did volunteer work in southern Mexico in 1992. I also am vegetarian for my health. I have felt so much better since becoming a vegetarian. I have been vegan and am getting back to the vegan diet (though both my daughters are not vegan, but they have been vegetarian since birth). I won't wear clothing that is made from animals (leather, silk, etc.). |

| I am constantly trying to improve my lifestyle by learning to live a more simplistic life. I am not interested in the material things in life, and I am working to teach my daughters what is important...family, friends, and values. My main passion (aside from my kids) is music. I play the Highland bagpipes, penny whistle, didgeridoo, drums, and am trying to teach myself the banjo and the Irish (uilleann) bagpipes. I love reading, enjoying nature and exercise (often together), and the arts (I dab in drawing with pastels at times). I am not much into TV, and I enjoy listening to international music. I have traveled throughout the US, Mexico, and parts of Canada...as well as Europe and southern Africa. I love seeing new areas of the world, and I hope I can say I have been on every continent before I die. Life is too short and the world is too exciting a place to stay in one place all one's life, so I hope to do more visiting other parts of the earth as I can. |

| I was in a relationship for nearly 20 years with my ex-wife...and so the online dating is a new approach for me. I tried one of the other more popular online dating websites, but I found myself always looking for vegetarian women and of a progressive political nature. My vegetarian lifestyle is a very personal and vital part of my life, and I think I would only feel comfortable with someone of similar values. I am looking for a woman to get to know with whom a romantic relationship may develop over time. I enjoy talking with a woman and really getting to know her so that being completely true with each other exists. |
