| I switched to vegetarianism out of a respect for life and a desire to break away from at least one pattern of my upbringing. I’ve been a vegetarian for over 20 years now. |

| I enjoy getting outside and experiencing the many beautiful places Florida has to offer, often hopping farmers’ fences to explore some little-known spring or cave or spending the day with my son in search of fossils in a creek. I grew up in this part of Florida, catching its bounty of snakes and turtles and never passing up an opportunity to plunge into its crystalline waters or swing from a tattered rope into its tannin rivers. Many of these places, and creatures, are fast disappearing. After a few years of working as a small-town reporter, photographer and designer, I switched to marketing, where I work as a copywriter, writing ads and blogs and radio scripts and whatever else they can think of to throw my way. Before studying journalism, I worked as a commercial artist and sculptor for almost 10 years. I still paint and draw whenever I can. I also enjoy reading, watching good movies, woodworking, playing the guitar and, most of all, spending time with my son, who is soon to make his way into this world on his own--after college, at least. Did I mention the guitar? I have a sizeable collection, including amps and effects and recording equipment. I’m a decent cook, depending on whom you ask. I can build damn near anything, as long as it’s not under the hood of an automobile, and I’m good with kids, pets and mother-in-laws. I don’t go to church or vote Republican, though I don’t necessarily hold those things against others, and I enjoy making people laugh. |
| I'm Looking For |
| Of course, I want a real beauty, but I don’t think there’s enough space here to try to define what I think that is. I’m looking for a woman mindful of spirit, though not locked into a single mode of beliefs. I’d like a woman who takes care of herself, at least moderately. I’m not an Olympic athlete by any stretch of the imagination, but I do make time to be active. Oh, and though not something I would hold against a person for not doing, it is nice, I’ve found, when one, at least occasionally, engages in some sort of creative endeavor: art, music, poetry. |
