| I have been a vegetarian for a number of decades. I believe it's a far healthier way to eat especially if one couples it with eating organic food choices. Because I have been an animal welfare advocate since my 20s (and an animal lover since a child), above all else, it is an ethical decision. |

| Although I was born in Detroit, I grew up in (Southern) California and attended college there. I have a degree in Political Science and am retired from public sector employment. My passion in life is animal welfare. I appreciate a great sense of humor in others and admire those who are both intelligent and kind. I tend to gravitate toward individuals who are quieter by nature. I prefer a comfortable lifestyle but have learned that money does not guarantee happiness. I enjoy home improvement projects, gardening and a warm weather location during the winter months. I also enjoy reading/learning more about historical places and historical figures especially political notables and entertainment icons from the Golden Age of Hollywood. I have been a fan of �old movies� since I was in high school and like to watch the �TCM� channel. A few interesting or not so interesting facts about me: Years ago, I had a fear of flying until my first trip - to Europe. A few years later, during a one hour flight, a failed engine forced an emergency landing. Now I travel by train although I am thinking seriously about taking a fear of flying course: It would be so much faster to go by plane!!!. I shook Barry Goldwater�s hand while he was campaigning for president in Riverside (Calif.). George Peppard built a campfire for my �cabin� when I was a camp counselor. Was he ever handsome!!! My family and I traveled Route 66 from California to Michigan and back to California. I saw the original musical �Hair� in San Francisco. |
| I'm Looking For |
| I would like to meet that "someone" who has empathy for and displays both inward and outward compassion toward other sentient beings. Living a healthy lifestyle brings about a greater appreciation, I think, in desiring to sustain a nurtured and protected planet. Someone who is both health conscious and environmentally aware are positives. A quick and keen seen of humor and intelligence are also perfect pluses! Being with someone who shares the same sense of humor is the best. Last, it would be wonderful to be in California - if not with someone who lives there now, then with someone who would love to move there or at least spend the winter months there!!! |
