| Why I'm Vegan |
| I've been a vegetarian for the past 39 years! (Ash Wednesday, February 16, 1983, I became a vegetarian) -- Vegan for the majority of that time. It is wrong to kill animals and humans, and the human body is not designed to consume/process flesh. I'm an ethical vegan and a long-time advocate/activist for animal rights. I believe in being spiritually and physically pure. When it's available, I purchase and consume organically grown food. I prefer to eat vegetables and fruits that are locally grown -- year-round! (But, hey, bananas and oranges don't grow in Indiana.) I eat a balance of raw and cooked foods -- More raw goodies like tomatoes, sweet peppers, and fruit in the Summer-time. I enjoy shopping at the farmer's market and eating what is in season, year-round. I like eating a lot of greens -- Bok choy, varieties of lettuce, Swiss chard, varieties of cabbage, kale, spinach, dandelion greens, and others -- and a variety of berries (blackberries, mulberries, and raspberries grow at my place -- and I get strawberries and blueberries at the local farmer's market). I don't drink alcohol, caffeine, or soda. And I haven't used any medication in years. Believing that Jesus is the Great Physician and the source of all good things -- What need do I have for anything else? Genesis 1:29-30 says: "Then God said, “Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant throughout the earth and all the fruit trees for your food. And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in the sky, and the small animals that scurry along the ground—everything that has life.” And that is what happened." (New Living Translation) |

| I am most passionate about Jesus -- Loving Him and living out my faith in Him -- -- Seeking God's will and striving to live it. I live my life in sincere thankfulness and appreciation. I strongly believe in and try to live what's described in James 2:14-20. Genuinely kind, deeply compassionate and empathetic, I'm a great listener and gentleman. God has blessed me in many and varied ways. I am complex and have diverse interests and appreciations. My life continues to evolve. I live the values that I hold dear and put into practice the principles that are important to me. I am both earthy and very spiritual. Everything has spiritual roots. I believe in upholding and honoring all of Creation. I love all of God's creation -- All of the natural world: animals, plants, insects, the earth, trees, the wind and the rain, and people -- despite all of our brokenness. I strive to be a good steward of His Creation and of my body. My commitment to Jesus, Peace and non-violence manifests itself in a reverence for all Life. I'm a tree-hugging, progressive-conservative, anti-war, "seamless-garment" pro-lifer. My practice as a consumer is to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Conservative when it comes to resource use, I believe in leaving a very light carbon and water-use footprint wherever I am, whatever I am doing. I have a strong work ethic. Yet, I have a quirky sense of humor, see the silliness in much, and laugh readily. During the past 20 years, my calling had been to work for Peace and repudiate war and militarism. From 2002 to Nov. 2014, I functioned as a local anti-war organizer in Indiana. I also served as a campaign coordinator for a nationwide campaign focused on Peace for Iraq. A Peace activist since the 1980's, I love Life and hate war. After employment in the engineering fields as a drafter, designer, and technical illustrator (1981-2001), I worked for a developmental disability services agency, doing direct support and then administrative work, during the past 18 years. Music is great! My musical tastes are broad -- Hymns and praise & worship and contemporary Christian music to Christian speed metal, Baroque to The Beatles, Christmas jingles to oratorios, J.S. Bach to Big Country to Midnight Oil, progressive rock of the 70's (Genesis, YES, Gentle Giant, KANSAS) to UK to U2 to Neal Morse, etc. I'd like to have in my life an intensely compatible woman to love and share life with. What good is faith if it doesn't manifest itself in a transformed life? |

| I'd like to have in my life a loving, principled, compatible Christian woman to love and share life with. Honesty and being forthright are key attributes. The most important quality that I look for in a woman is being in love with Jesus. A Christ-centered heart is at her core. The woman I seek is also a kind-hearted vegetarian or vegan, practically caring about animals and "the least of these" -- Loving all of God's children and Creation. The most attractive thing for me is hearing the earnest prayer of a tender-hearted woman, seeing her worshiping Jesus passionately and uninhibitedly, and knowing that she is putting her faith into practice daily. What good is faith if it doesn't manifest itself in a transformed life? I love to praise and worship Jesus daily, and corporately with others at church on Sundays. I'd like to find someone who enjoys worshiping God and going to church, and understands the joy and power in worshiping The Almighty. I'm looking for someone who is genuinely kind, patient, and unselfish in spirit and practice -- Someone who loves God's children and Creation so much that she actively works to make the world a better place. I desire a spiritually mature, beautiful woman who seeks God's will and participates in bringing it to fruition here on Earth. I want to partner with a woman to reach higher, live more fully, LOVE more deeply, and accomplish greater things. We will be more spectacular together than we are apart!
