| As an extension of my passion for animals, animal rights and animal welfare, I started a vegan café in my hometown in Pennsylvania. I view this as a grass roots initiative to familiarize my hope community with veganism. I recently sold this business, as it was too much for me to manage while working full time abroad. I presently live in Wales, having moved to the UK from India a few years, and the I'm happy to say the café is still thriving! My other passions include travel. I long to see and experience as much of the world and its cultures as possible. I have moved around a little, having also lived in France, New England, Seattle, Nashville, London, and India. In India, I participate in animal activism and helping improve the plight of the millions of stray (desi) dogs and cats. I work to find homes for innumerable stray cats and dogs. In the UK, I foster cats and dogs with various health challenges. My other significant passions include travel, music, exercise, and cups of tea. And I'm passionate about laughing and having fun! I very recently stepped away from the corporate world in order to make space in my life for living and starting a new life with a vegan partner. I have been actively listening to music since I was a toddler. I could never fully list all of artists that are important to me, but here is a small sample: Duran Duran, new wave, synth pop such as Culture Club, Yaz, Depeche Mode, Erasure, the Cure, the Human League, Pet Shop Boys, INXS, etc, the shoe gaze genre generally, David Bowie, Joy Division/ New Order, Echo & the Bunnymen, the Smiths/Morrissey, Pulp/Jarvis Cocker, Suede, George Michael/Wham!, the Talking Heads, the Kinks, the Beatles, Elvis, Sam Cooke, and the Bee Gees. Some contemporary favorites include LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, Kasabian, Temples, Jagwar Ma, Tame Impala, the Brian Jonestown Massacre, Primal Scream and the Flaming Lips. I love spending time with friends and family - talking, laughing, joking, more laughing, playing games. Simple pleasures. |
