| Why I'm Raw Vegan |
| Compassion, ethics, environment, conscience, sanity....I have been vegan for nearly 20 years, excepting about 5 years after my kids were born. The more I understand about the environmental effects of raising animals for slaughter- and the way capitalist mindset can commodify sentient beings and ritualize murder in the name of profit- I know that I can't participate or remain silent while this sickness prevails. I am raw because it has made my health incredible! I have not been significantly sick since going raw, I love the creativity of it and I love making really unhealthy SAD food raw and organic and super healthy!!!! I am perfecting the raw organic vegan donut! I make an amazing raw vegan pad thai and indian food (;. |

| I meditate 2 hours a day and teach tai chi and qigong. I study Toltec shamanism and the tao, I read and listen to mainly spiritual texts, and parapsychology and quantum physics books. I'm not an angry materialist vegan (; I am also a professional jazz bassist and play usually about a half dozen gigs a month all over New England and New York. I am a mountaineer who has some technical skill and I have hiked large trips in the alps, carpathians, Andes, white mountains, trinity alps, and hiked some sections of the AT. I am an avid kayaker and paddle hard daily for about an hour. I have 3 kids 13 yo twins and a 15 yo boy, who live with me part time. Oh and I am a forager, I have eaten about 60 varieties of local mushrooms. I no longer eat them since most mushrooms are not safe to eat raw. I am fully raw vegan for 3.5 years! |
