| I'm Kelly. I look for someone who, like me, cares about the integration of compassion and reason. I'm looking for a long-term soulmate/genuine match. Qualities that describe me, which I hope we both share: *freethinking (which is about process more than conclusions) *ignostic (look it up if you don't know what it means :) *agnostic and/or atheist *vegan primarily for compassion reasons, but also health, environmental, and humanitarian reasons *no interest in recreational drugs/alcohol *creative and original more often than conventional and traditional *open-minded and kind-hearted sincerity and assertiveness (as contrasted with the polarities of blunt, brutally honest, bull in the china shop, aggressive behavior and avoidant, euphemistic, chronic chameleon-like, passive behavior) *philosophical (I care about the nature of things, whether from a Western analytic approach or a more Eastern parable/metaphorical approach) *care about personal development and understanding the world as it is rather than spiritual bypassing *intellectual in the service of action (I'm not a fan of just talking about politics and religion, for example; I'm a fan of talking the talk and walking the walk. :) *artistic in some way (it doesn't have to be creating your own art, whether it's visual, musical, culinary arts, etc; it could just be feeling something for art and appreciating it. I do macro nature photography as a hobby, where a flower or leaf reaching up toward the sunlight is beautiful for what is as well as beautiful for what it symbolizes) *love the outdoors (such as hiking in forests, mountains, and along the ocean) *realistic optimism I work in applied behavior analysis. I love my career and intend to stay with it for life. My life purpose is to mutually draw out the best in others and in myself. |
| I'm Looking For |
| I'm looking for someone who shares with me those qualities I listed above. In addition, we're likely a match if you also want to have a loving, healthy family with a genuine match. I do not relate to or look for someone who wants children only because of instinct or tradition. I look for someone who has a benevolent sense of humor most of the time and does not have a derisive, sarcastic sense of humor. My favorite kind of humor is truth-telling, stating "truths hidden in plain sight." I also enjoy ambiguity of language. The comedies in film I enjoy are not just for the laugh moments but because they're conceptually interesting (imagine everyone acting like the main character in "Liar Liar"). I hope that we can laugh at most of the same types of events. :) I look for someone who is well-rounded with thought and feeling, who cares about rational altruism and accurate empathy. I look for someone who wants to share an inclination to love and appreciate each other for who we are and not just a few bits and pieces, who wants to perceive each other both accurately and in our best light. |
