| Why I'm Vegetarian |
| Have not eaten meat for over 30 years. I have eaten occasional fish but stopped recently. I am well acquainted with and cook both vegan and raw and enjoy them. Yes, I feel sure that fully vegan is the best way for the planet and for it's inhabitants i.e. all inhabitants and things that grow on earth as well as the earth itself not forgetting the carbon emissions of animal husbandry. I also feel strongly that even animals kept small scale that are fed organically with love now get slaughtered with no love or gratitude as they were in bygone times in aboriginal culture. So I guess not eating creatures with eyes is partly respect of the animal kingdom and partly protest at what is happening in the world today. I would like to say that I practise ahimsa but have not quite got to flies, cockroaches and garden bugs. Yes, I am honest. |

| More About Me |
| I am a very natural person. My hair and teeth are my own. I like gardening, walking, swimming laps, making things and I love reading. My gardening extends to planting fruit and native trees on the verge and growing vegetables. I have a big family .. 6 children and 4 have offspring. I take an interest in them all but do not see a great deal of them as they have their own busy lives. My cooking skills are international and I can cook up a treat vegetarian, vegan or raw. On my own I eat very simply. I eat a lot of raw food and though not strictly vegan , it is what I usually eat and would be no problem to be totally vegan. One daughter and her family are vegan. I have diplomas in nursing, hearing therapy and counselling but I usually do other things to earn money these days. I sometimes look after dogs and do a bit of upholstery or repair furniture etc. teaching myself to chair cane now. My interests are many. I am rich in other things than money though not on the poverty line. Simple things are a delight. I was born in Yorkshire UK and still have relatives and friends in the UK and visit every few years. I still love the fells and lakes. My latest interest was to join the local Mens Shed to learn woodwork restoring old things and making new. I became deaf gradually between 18 to 30 and was profoundly deaf for 30 years before getting cochlear implants which leave me hearing better than most people my age. I can hear music and everything else remarkably well. I love Art, architecture and the arts in general, alternative health and having a laugh. |

| Someone who does not eat meat but is not totally focussed on food. Someone who is as interested in me as I am in them. Someone who is active and enjoys life and can see the funny side. Someone who might like to take an interest in gardening and growing food. Someone who would be happy to share families sometimes. Someone who likes an adventure and would like to include me at least sometimes. Someone who is quite happy to do their own thing as i would be happy to do mine , enjoying doing things together when it suits. Someone who is sensitive and caring. Someone who is a good communicator. Someone who at least enjoys some of my interests or would be interested in trying something new. I certainly am open to participating in new interests and activities myself. Someone who would respect my space and differences as much as I would respect theirs. Someone who believes in growing and a shared journey. Someone who I can trust and who trusts me. Someone loving and kind who loves peace and beauty. |
