| Being vegan isn't a diet, it's a way of life. Being vegan is about living compassionately and mindfully. We all have to make choices, every day, and most of those choices are between a more ethical one and not. I believe in always trying to make the most ethical choice, whether it regarding what I eat, or what I do. No one is perfect, and we have to "live", but we can make better choices. There is no such thing as a perfect vegan. But if you try to make the most ethical choices .. it matters. |

| More About Me |
| It's about leaving this place better than it is, and helping ALL those in need. ONCE upon a time.... I was a kayak guide/naturalist/boat captain/cook in Alaska 15 years ago, then moved to Hawaii to help start a green business. I'm quiet, reflective.... I live offgrid. Love all animals and the wilderness, gardening, hiking, nature,snorkeling, cooking, photography, art, reading, NPR Moth RH, DIY, recycle repurpose...I live on 7.5 acres on Maui. Jungle/natural wilderness, birds, trees.... I grew up as a dog person, then ran with wolves in Alaska.(ok, walked and kayaked...). so am, technically, more of a wilderness/wildlife person... but am helping feral/homeless cats here on Maui. I try to live with leaving the smallest footprint.. I'm not into facebook, twitter... etc... I watch very little tv, but it is usually a documentary, nature show, or a good movie... Never stop learning. I use my phone as a phone... not into texting. Music... I still love John Denver... But also pavorotti, josh grobin, loreena mckennit, Rampal, simon and Gar, etc... Classical, folk, celtic, orchestras... I dont listen to music on the radio so am unaware of new artists that might be awesome! I just heard Ari Hest (was with judy collins at a show) Great voice! I used to play the flute (a hundred years ago or so) and have just recently started again! Which is awful and fun at the same time!. I'm also a blood donor. I still study nutrition and cooking, and like playing with my Oregon Chainsaw... and recently started a sewing business! I like playing with my food.. e.g. eating artichokes. Swirling Pasta on my fork.... I Love pineapples bananas oranges avocados... from the yard... tomatoes, kale, raw okra... My perfect life I would love to be able to live in the jungles of Hawaii part of the year, grow most of my own food.... create a vegan B B on Maui.... .. plus travel to some remote wilderness, like Alaska, part of the year. But I know that nothing is perfect and everyone has to make sacrifices, particularly if one wants a partner. I believe in working together to be as happy as WE can while being as good to animals and the planet as we can. Life is So much better sharing it with someone who sees things the way you do... Lets see what happens Be the change you wish to see in the world... |
