Why I'm Vegan
I don't feel that any animal needs to die for me to eat and gave up meat in 1994 - right before Thanksgiving, so that was a quick adjustment for my family. While working for half a year in Alaska in 2012, I was subjected to the people I was working with constantly cooking and or leaving in the kitchen sink in the company housing dead fish. Quietly, I became vegan that summer in protest to that disgusting habit. The hardest thing to give up was cheese, but I've coped.

More About Me
I live in Southern Nevada and work in the Las Vegas area. I've received two college degrees, but don't work in either of the fields to which those degrees apply. Currently, want to work toward making my avocation a vocation (that would be something I would get more in depth on, if I met someone in person). I volunteer with children because that relates to one of my degrees and enjoy my time doing that. Personally, I don't want and have never wanted to have any kids of my own. Never wanting for any theories, I feel that my family doesn't have really great genetics, so I'm doubting I'd be all that crazy about offspring of my own. As a reverse (to some minds) to what I've already said, I'm really into horror movies. I will watch other things, but when given a chance, that's what I'm going to choose. Then I can flip it back and say that my favorite vacation is Disneyland - though I would like to go to Tokyo sometime because I've had a fascination with that place for quite a while. Additionally, if politics in the U.S. remain what they are, I may have to, at some point, look to moving else where. The obvious choice would be Canada, but most of Scandinavia would be good too. If there were a place with a more socialized form of government and social structure that also had warm weather (I don't know of any), I would be there in a heartbeat.

I'm Looking For
This is a problematic question to answer. I live in one of the cheesiest, non-thinking areas of the nation, so animal rights aren't always on the forefront of people's thinking. This can even be evidenced by how devoid the searches here with proximity to my locale come up. That said, I would like to find someone who is into some of the geeky things I am. Previously mentioned, I like horror movies and TV, which is often a hard sell but there are people out there who like that. I would love to find someone who thinks that going to Disneyland often is a good use of time. The only reason I've never splurged on an annual pass is because that would still mean having to do my trips there by myself (and, trust me, I've done just that). When I get weak and start to think that I might want to have a kid around, it's because they might last longer in the "never get tired of Disneyland" state of mind than most adults do. I guess to get into brass tacks, I would want someone who takes care of themselves. It's quite possible to get out of shape and still be vegan/vegetarian. I go to Ronald's Donuts here in Las Vegas almost every week, but only once a week. I'm not the tallest guy, but I usually prefer someone shorter than me, because short is cute. While I'm middle aged, I still think that cute is one of my utmost preferences - but personality is important also. I like smart, funny people. I don't understand the notion of people saying they "love to laugh," because I've never met someone who hates to laugh. Lastly, my huge pet peeve turn off is people who shave off their eyebrows and pencil or paint them back on. I know a lot of people do this, but it's too Joan Crawford for me. A person should try to be somewhat comfortable with who they are. I don't really even blanch at the thought of skipping shaving (except for facial hair - I find that stupid on both genders and you'll never find much of that on me).
