| Why I'm Vegan |
| Strict vegetarian. Vegan but with some unsalted butter allowed. I am vegan because of the clarity of mind, body, karma and spirit it allows. It's ahimsa (do no harm) and dharma not to participate in the destruction or harm of any living thing. I went vegan in 2003 after reading two books simultaneously. One was fiction with a crazy militant vegan character and I knew the author well enough to know what he expressed was true. The other a comedy non fiction about that coincidentally exposed me to the truths of the meat industry and how unnatural it is for people to eat meat. I switched from omnivore overnight. |
