| Why I'm Vegan |
| What motivated me to go vegetarian when I was about 14 and later vegan was the combo of being taken to a veggie restaurant (by mistake) by my father and while there seeing a transport across the street - animal corpses being delivered to the butcher's. It made the connection between living and dead animals very clear to me, confirmed that meat-eating was both cruel and unnecessary as there were, I discovered, other things to eat. All the other reasons like health and environmental sustainability, solidarity are good too and just underline how much sense veganism/vegetarianism make. I have worked in animal rights most of my life so I am familiar with the whole spectrum of cruelties we expose animals to. I have also worked in environmental protection/activism and international aid (with children and youth) and know they all go together. |
| More About Me |
| My supervisor during my doctorate described me as eccentric which I take as a compliment. I think I am very normal. I grew up and have lived my life in Sweden and the UK but also in South America and Asia. It has definately shaped me. Nowadays I mostly dream about a little chalet by the seaside and a slow life but I also love to go dancing, travelling and everything else that is expanding. My willingness to contribute to change for animals and humans is still very strong and I want to keep learning new things (just finished a course in organic gardening). As a trained journalist I am a big fan of Swedish public broadcasting. |

| Someone to long for, someone with a similar cosmology so longing can be maintained and grow. Someone who when present is supportive and willing to do some DIY around the house🤣. A good friend. Someone with a heavy baggage of self-distance and humour. |
