| Why I'm Vegan |
| I am an ethical vegan, I wish to do no harm to animals. I followed my sister into vegetarianism at about 9years of age. She became vegetarian aged 5 when she realised 'Lamb' was literally that. Then aged 16 I gradually changed to being completely vegan by 20, and my sister and mum followed suit. During my training as a veterinary surgeon I was exposed to all common farming methods, and abattoirs. I am grateful of the experiences I gained, as they allowed me to form my beliefs in an informed manner. |
| More About Me |
| My teenage years were spent dedicated to achieving my ambition of becoming a vet. I probably missed out on the normal experiences of being a teenager as I spent all my time studying, or working to buy and then keep my horse. This was probably to the relief of my mum, until I hit my 20's :/ My mum is the most wonderful person in my world. Followed shortly by my sister. They have given me so much love and time to make it possible for me to live the life I dreamt of, being a vet and owning horses. From waking to 4am alarms to get me to farms, through caring for my horses while I travelled to work in Australia, to now living with my sister who, along with her partner, make it possible for me to work 3 very long days per week as a director of an equine veterinary practice. I own 4 beautiful horses, and the most gorgeous dog in the world - a samoyed girl. I have a love of ballet dancing, which I began aged 4, and continued to a high level until going to University. I've continued to dance into my adulthood, and I also love watching ballet at the theatre. My sister stood for the green party in the general election last year; she inspired me to take some interest in politics, though I must say my knowledge is very limited. However, my ethical principles fit best with the Animal Welfare Party, followed by the Green Party. I would love to see the nature and animals on this earth preserved. I became an Auntie 5 years ago and am completely in love with my nephew. He has been coming on Auntie-holidays since he was 3 and we love each other dearly and have so much fun. He makes me laugh and smile, and I love to make him happy, even when that means spending 3+ hours with him driving round my field on my knee. The highlights of the drive being the occasional fantasy stop offs to see his French and Caribbean family members! It is magical seeing him learn and talk and seeing his lovely little sense of humour, and his heart-warming kindness. I also love eating chocolate cakes. |

| Someone who would like to consider being a loving, dedicated daddy and partner. I'm going to be perfectly honest and say that I don't think I'd ever have taken much interest in finding a partner had I not recently started thinking I'd like to be a mum. But that isn't to say I don't think I could be happy in a relationship and be a kind and loving partner - I have a lot of love, I have just tended to keep it all for my family and animals. I am sure I could love someone who lives their life with compassion for other beings. I love my lifestyle and don't particularly want it to change too much, but perhaps there's a way to fit a partner into my life?! |
