| Why I'm Vegan |
| I read the China Study in 2009, pondered the information, and never looked at meat and dairy the same. Initially, I was interested primarily in the health benefits of a whole-foods, plant-based lifestyle. My dad had been struggling with severe heart disease and I actually had increased cholesterol levels. As I began changing my lifestyle, my cholesterol dropped and there were so many positive changes to my body, mind, and spirit that I never looked back. Over time, I have also embraced the positive effects on animals, and the environment and it now goes hand in hand with my kind and peaceful lifestyle. |

| I am a proud mom of a 15-year-old boy, a psychologist with a rewarding career and great life/work balance, I enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle and love being outdoors (running, biking, hiking, skiing, paddleboarding, etc), I love the beach in late summer and the mountains in the fall, I enjoy exploring new places and love travelling, I meditate and do yoga to keep mind and body in balance, I prefer good conversation by the fire over watching tv, but definitely can binge on shows occasionally. Oh, and I love to dance --it's my happy place. I am open to new experiences, and recently began painting and playing guitar (I am still terrible at both, but I do enjoy learning). |
