| I'm an intelligent, kind, creative person who enjoys being in nature, laughing, dancing, hiking, pitching in, building things, computer programming and exploring the many inner and outer worlds of life. I tend to like computers and might be considered an advanced amateur programmer. I've built a few websites for animal advocacy groups as well as ones for my own business and have occasionally made a few dollars writing custom programs. I can be very serious as well as playful. While I reserve the right to torture my friends with bad jokes, I also believe in being kind to all animals, so I'm willing to rein in my senseless diatribes upon request. I feel deep conversation can be an adventure and appreciate exploring ideas where nuance and degree may be more necessary than trying to decide what is right and wrong. I like how great conversations sometimes branch out in unexpected directions. I'm left-leaning politically and interested in a wide range of subjects including politics, philosophy, self-improvement, science, design, spiritual living, TV, movies, music, art, etc. I generally like children and appreciate families. I am sometimes sad that my own birth family is scattered across the country. As I get older though, it seems like friends tend to become family and I'm glad for that. I enjoy animals but do not have any such companions currently. I'm organic, dependable and trustworthy. I'm a good listener and can usually figure out what is going on inside of me and share it with others if they are interested. I am conversant in the techniques of nonviolent communication and believe they are very useful in any relationship. If I get triggered, I can almost always figure out why and take responsibility for it. I enjoy spending time with other people but also tend to be introverted and sometimes need my own space to recharge. I'm a seasoned partner dancer experienced in swing, tango, salsa, night club, Latin and ballroom dances. I love partner dancing because it's good exercise, good for your brain and combines so many pleasurable things into a moving multimedia experience. During the course of a song you can have a playful, meaningful, nonverbal, collaborative connection with your partner. In the best dances, the partnership framework allows each dancer to express their passion through their own style and interpretation of the music. If you are new to this type of dancing I can teach you how to do most of these dances. |
