| Why I'm Vegan |
| I've been a vegetarian since I was a teenager. It's about the ethics, of course -- not taking life or using living things as if they are factory products. I gave myself the birthday gift last year of becoming vegan, and it's definitely a whole new way of eating healthy that goes well beyond vegetarianism. I don't like to spend too much time cooking, so I'm always looking for easy recipes to bring in all the nutrients - plus, I'm gluten-free as well. So far, I've experimented with curries, and various oat bars. |

| I teach, have a child at home and one grown, and dedicate time and brain space to writing. I have been working on converting my lawn to native Florida plants to draw pollinators and improve our environment - that's never-ending but very rewarding. |
| I'm Looking For |
| It would be interesting to meet other people who are navigating the world as vegans. It has been kind of a private adventure, and it would helpful to see how others do things. I am definitely interested in developing friendships. As for me, I love writing, reading, am interested in music and the arts, and would enjoy getting outside for hiking or canoeing. I like fitness, healthy eating, and taking care of my household, which includes three dogs and two cats. |
