Music is important in my life - rarely a day goes by when I don't listen to music of one kind or another - from rock to classical - feel blessed to have grown up in the Beatles era. I love to dance to uplifting stuff ( eg 'The Gypsy Kings ) ,but I love beautiful classical music - my favourite piece is Camille Saint-Saens piano concerto No.2 in G minor - sometimes majestic, sometimes playful ( as in the 2nd movement) ! I had piano lessons as a child and reached a pretty good standard - then 'life' took over , though I'm determined to start playing again.

I just don't see myself loving someone who doesn't care about killing / eating animals. For many of us, being a veggie is so much more than simply a diet.
I'm a former airline pilot changing careers (not by choice). My highly profitable airline was bought out, suddenly unexpectedly closed, the airline pilot retirement age was raised from 60 to 65 (no attrition for five years), and the economy was horrible. I sure miss flying the Boeing 727...the feeling of 48,000 pounds of thrust at my fingertips is difficult to duplicate! The beauty of the Earth from above is so breathtaking. A scratch in my eye from a brand new contact lens has cost me the career I so enjoyed. I went back to school and obtained my LPN, but have not used it yet due to a number of family tragedies. I had been taking care of my vegan Mom full time. Congestive heart failure is no fun. She fought a valiant battle, but is no longer with me. Now I am working on getting my house ready for sale to move into my parents (a few acres and a swimming pool).
I love music - tastes range from classical to oldies (Sinatra) to alternative, but I especially enjoy acoustic Latin / Mediterranean guitar. Hammocks - such a simple invention, but so relaxing! Canoeing, boating, bicycling, experiencing nature, tennis, or even throwing a Frisbee are all fun fair weather activities.
Based on my profile, you probably wouldn't guess I love to laugh, and joke around often. Sometimes my delivery is too dry for people to realize I'm joking...love watching the five second delay as someone gets it! I also enjoy a nice cuddle, going for walks, deep, and not so deep discussions.

I’m a retired college professor, artist, and author looking for a compatible travel companion. I enjoyed 30 wonderful years with my wife who passed from cancer in 2019. I love gardening, writing, massage, cooking, and travel. Some of my favorite outings include gardens (especially in Maui!), live theater, theme parks, museums, and art shows. My mornings start out with some meditation, breathing exercises, Qi Gong, then a workout. I love creating things, whether it be digital or something eye-catching for the garden. I have a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics and one in Educational Technology. I fully retired from teaching in 2020. I’m the author of 12 books and manuals, mostly on computer-related topics.
I spend a lot of my time in the garden when not out and about. It's a tranquil retreat with plenty of fruit trees, garden beds, and a hydroponic tower. There is also a tea house, a flowing stream, and plenty of seating areas.
I am passionate about promoting a plant-strong lifestyle through writing, hosting pot lucks, and networking. I discovered this way of eating in 2012, and it has given me a new lease on my health. I believe strongly that our society needs to move in that direction if we are to cure our chronic diseases, protect our environment, and reduce animal suffering.

I strive to live a simple, nonmaterialistic, meaningful, and ethical and moral life. Jewish values, which focus on how we treat others, are core to my existence. But one of those values is that we can learn from everyone! Enjoy hiking, being in nature, learning, artistic creativity, and dry humor. Look for ways to help others but, in the process, try to avoid self-serving feelings like self-validation and pride. Forbearing and placid but a little tendency toward being a worrier. Adventurous but also risk-averse.
I stopped practicing clinical medicine almost 30 years ago because I felt it was no longer possible to do so ethically in the current environment. This is something few people outside the sphere of medicine can understand, because they lack knowledge of both the science and the culture of medicine today. Besides, most people have a psychological need to believe that things are being done in their best interests. Scientific medicine, by the way, can include any modalities so long as there is at least some good evidence for their effectiveness. Specific therapies don't have to be proven and we don't even have to understand how they work. Thus, there is no such thing as "Western medicine" or "conventional medicine." But what's urgently needed is a system in which people view their work as a calling and shed themselves of any self-interest. I've written extensively on the subject.

At an occupational level, I am an undergraduate student who is at the beginning of their university journey. Hobbies include daily exercise (with full body resistance training every other day), consuming content from NPR (especially via KQED Radio) and the PBS Newshour, and pursuing opportunities to help better myself or support the world around me :). Other than that, though, I'm very open to new experiences or activities, too.
Native English speaker and somewhat proficient in Spanish. I'm always up for learning more languages, especially if it helps me communicate with you or your loved ones better.
I was formerly pre-health (medical/dental) and then switched to project management because it has allowed me to continue working with and spending time with my family.
Twenty years from now, when those family opportunities are less prevalent, I'll probably look to go back to school (ideally to study something to help reduce animal and/or environmental exploitation, although hopefully humans are no longer doing that 20 years from now :p) or look into more lucrative professional options (and donate any earnings beyond what I would hope to remain a fairly frugal lifestyle to high-impact charities promoting animal welfare.)
Those plans are definitely flexible, however, especially if that flexibility would help me to better support the happiness of a wonderful vegan partner :)
