Since my best friend, Dougald, left this world on June 28th this year,
My sadness hasn't diminished even a single day.
But the times of sadness have gradually decreased.
Most of us have feelings.
When we're sad, we don't need to resist it,
But rather understand why we're sad.
This experience of losing a dear friend
Has made me feel immense regret for his short life!
Because he was such a kind person!
Many say that for every effect, there's a cause.
Perhaps his early passing was due to this causal relationship.
I understand very well how the law of attraction works.
When you're happy,
The vibration you emit attracts things related to happiness.
When you're sad, you attract similar things that make you sad.
When you're angry, you attract similar things that make you angry.
... and so on.
So, to have a fulfilling life, the vibration you emit is crucial!
You can be sad, but don't let it persist for too long.
Learn how to transform sadness into strength.
When you're feeling down, realize that
Most people don't know how to control their emotions.
If you could handle it with a relaxed attitude, they wouldn't affect you.
Impermanence is a normal part of life; there's no need to lament it.
The important thing is to accept impermanence and strive to do what you love.
It will make you want to live a more meaningful, fulfilling, and joyful life!

Humor is so important because it engenders and represents hope, something we all need. And no one has ever died of laughter. Is that what's meant by "humoral immunity"? ;)
Strive to live a simple, nonmaterialistic, meaningful, and purposeful life. I'm a Luddite at heart, reminiscing about the halcyon days when we weren't overdependent on technology. I embrace sechel, not artificial intelligence, and modesty, not social media. 不患莫己知，求为可知也。"Don't fret about not being well-known; instead, strive to be worthy of being known" (Analects, book 4, verse 14). Jewish ideals inform and guide in all aspects of life. These include honesty and evenhandedness, including not saying anything essentially true but meant to mislead (as in PR/marketing/media); not hurting people's feelings or saying negative things about them; giving others the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to do the right thing; having a higher purpose in life, including work; and learning for the sake of learning, including from everyone! Enjoy hiking, being in nature, lizard-watching, learning, artistic creativity, and dry and waggish humor (but not sarcasm). Adventurous but also risk-averse.

Animal welfare/animal rights are extremely important to me. Over the years, I have also rescued and provided hospice care for senior dogs and cats. I'm only interested in men with big hearts full of unconditional love and compassion. I'm a retired journalist (writer and editor) and college instructor.
Spiritual/inner growth is crucial to me. It's all part of the same idea, as experiencing and expressing love and compassion for all beings (including myself) are my focus and goal. I believe in the law of attraction and that we are all here to learn and grow in the Earth School. I'm interested in a variety of metaphysical studies, but being grounded is important to me, as is maintaining a sense of inner peace and gratitude. I'm sensitive to noise and crowds, fragrance and chemical odors, and enjoy a peaceful and fairly quiet lifestyle at this point in my journey. I'm more a homebody than someone interested in travel and wild adventures in the external world. Politically I'm extremely liberal.
Other interests include energy healing, psychology, writing, reading, natural/organic foods and nutrition, environmental issues, arts, nature, volunteering, alternative/holistic healing, walking, meaningful movies, theater, some concerts, inner growth activities, outdoor cafes, and more. Not into camping, backpacking, motorcycles, bars/nightclubs, loud music, frequent socializing, or sports (although I'd enjoy seeing the Yankees win the World Series).
