Hello veg friends!
Long time vegan living with a couple rescue guinea pigs in the DMV area. After around twenty years in the IT sector, I am transitioning to law. So I have a job as a paralegal but it's not too demanding and gives me some free time. As an introvert, I've found myself a bit a of a homebody over the past few years. Though I enjoy getting vegan food at various places in the DMV, primarily VA, like Loving Hut, Sunflower, and Chay Vegetarian.
I'm a lefty and will certainly get along with other people who are or lean left. I don't believe that animals are "things" and should have as much rights as people. I was at the march for Sanity, I've seen Colbert live, and willing to go to the occasional protest.
Some video games I'm playing include Final Fantasy 14, Warframe, and Elden Ring. I'm not great, but good enough to do some end game content. Maybe you could introduce me to a game or play with me sometime? It's a nice way to relax a bit.

I have been a long-time student of relationships, which baffle and fill my mind with wonder, all at the same time. I know that aspects, that we are fully conscious of, AND less conscious of are important when creating a relationship: the obvious wants, AND the ones that aren't so obvious, but feel very good when they're there, such as acceptance, positive regard, and passion.
I like to be active, and I am both "a few extra pounds" and "athletic." I've been doing an increasing amount of yoga; so far, my favorite is hot Vinyasa Yoga.
I have been blown away (in a really great way) listening to Eckhart Tolle.
I think I have a great sense of humor, but that's hard to express in words, and humor seems pretty subjective. I simply find a lot of things very funny.
During my life I've nurtured both human and non-human children; I've been a nanny to many children, and a friend/guardian to many non-humans. I love being around both.
I work as a home hospice nurse, which is an excellent outlet for providing compassion; I enjoy that home hospice includes physiology/microbiology/anatomy, psychology, spirituality, creativity, sociology, education, and yes, love. I'm also interested in actual health (vs. Western medicine as it stands).
I feel that I thoroughly explored career opportunities before becoming a nurse: a nanny, pre-school teacher's aid, tofu-maker, undercover agent, waitress, dance and aerobic instructor (as well as full-time dance student), secretary, hospital/ED unit assistant, receptionist, and salesperson. I like being a nurse because I continually LEARN, and there are many opportunities to assist others to learn (when they want to, that is!).
I've been relatively adventurous in my life, starting with childhood, growing up with an adventurous parent! Then, in teenage-hood, I took some solo bicycle adventures. It's continued into "adult-hood" with a nice swim adventure, and attempting motorcycling as transportation(ended abruptly with a fractured leg).

Strive to live a simple, nonmaterialistic, meaningful, and purposeful life. I'm a Luddite at heart, reminiscing about the halcyon days when we weren't overdependent on technology. I embrace sechel, not artificial intelligence, and modesty, not social media. 不患莫己知，求为可知也。"Don't fret about not being well-known; instead, strive to be worthy of being known" (Analects, book 4, verse 14). Jewish ideals inform and guide in all aspects of life. These include honesty and evenhandedness, including not saying anything essentially true but meant to mislead; not hurting people's feelings or saying negative things about them; giving others the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to do the right thing; having a higher purpose in life, including work; and learning for the sake of learning, including from everyone! But people with similar values come from many paths in life, the ultimate expression of which is being a mensch or, as Confucius termed it, a junzi, someone who sets an example through his or her actions, which speak louder than words.
Enjoy hiking, being in nature, lizard-watching, learning, artistic creativity, and dry and waggish humor (but not sarcasm). Introverted and sometimes lost in thought, but hopefully thoughtful in more ways than one! Look for ways to help others while avoiding self-serving feelings like validation and pride. Adventurous but also risk-averse.

I'm definitely socially awkward, most probably on the autistic spectrum (self diagnosed).

I would love to convert a school bus into a badass off grid mobile home and travel all over the US and elsewhere. Since my best friend, Dougald, left this world on June 28th this year,
My sadness hasn't diminished even a single day.
But the times of sadness have gradually decreased.
Most of us have feelings.
When we're sad, we don't need to resist it,

This experience of losing a dear friend
Has made me feel immense regret for his short life!
Because he was such a kind person!
Many say that for every effect, there's a cause.
Perhaps his early passing was due to this causal relationship.
I understand very well how the law of attraction works.
When you're happy,
The vibration you emit attracts things related to happiness.
When you're sad, you attract similar things that make you sad.
When you're angry, you attract similar things that make you angry.
... and so on.
So, to have a fulfilling life, the vibration you emit is crucial!
You can be sad, but don't let it persist for too long.
Learn how to transform sadness into strength.
When you're feeling down, realize that
Most people don't know how to control their emotions.
If you could handle it with a relaxed attitude, they wouldn't affect you.
Impermanence is a normal part of life; there's no need to lament it.
The important thing is to accept impermanence and strive to do what you love.
It will make you want to live a more meaningful, fulfilling, and joyful life!

Animal welfare/animal rights are extremely important to me. Over the years, I have also rescued and provided hospice care for senior dogs and cats.
