I'm a digital nomad (for lack of a better term) with a transient, minimalist lifestyle. I'm not opposed to settling down somewhere for the right person if visa runs are viable; I did this in Taiwan for years.

Scary picture eh? Despite this appearance, I am not Rasputin and I have been known to smile (often). Someone pointed out that a picture is important and this is the only recent one that fitted the sites criteria. I do have a beard at the moment but it will probably come off in the winter.
I get up very early to meditate each day. I drink quite a lot of wine too so I'm full of contradictions like most people. I'm generally happy and easygoing, maybe a little lazy. My top mentors start with Jacque Fresco, Claude Diamond, John Rose, Bruce Lipton, and Markus Rothkranz, Robert Kiyoski, sadly Bruce is the only one I've met personally and talked to, and Jacque passed away in 2017 and I missed his 100th birthday, R.I.P the founder of The Venus Project and a starting thinker for a Resource Based Economy.

Seeking my type of weird. One who can talk about literally anything (I'm an open book). I am looking for a best friend who I also want to curl up in bed with.
I love to travel and be spontaneous. I will try anything at least once and love to learn and see new places or cultures. I built out a van and usually spend two to three months every summer on the road with a couple of my dogs. I have been to every state now and to a few different countries. Last summer, I drove through Canada and made it to Alaska. My favorite part of the trip was taking a detour on my way home to drive to the Arctic Ocean and jumping in the icy waters. Getting there required driving several days on remote dirt roads through Native land without cell reception and I only had access to a couple of gas stations. Reaching the ocean was amazing. Because of how far north it is, it never got dark so I curled up in a blanket along the shore and watched a never-ending sunset until I fell asleep around 3am.
I am a night owl and don't often wake up early unless I must.
In 2012, I started a non-profit animal rescue that I named after one of the first animals I rescued-- a lamb. While my rescue is primarily dogs and cats, I hope to also provide sanctuary to farm animals as well someday. Until I can rescue my own sheep and cows, I work and volunteer for a few ranches/sanctuaries. I don't mind getting dirty. I am not really into fashion or wearing make-up either. I like to be comfortable and I like to stay warm.
I am a busy person, but I make time for the people I care about, and my friends all know I am there if they need me (even if it's early in the morning).
I am looking for someone who loves animals, enjoys conversations about politics and philosophy and is a genuinely caring person. Also, if you like cooking, I love to eat. :) If you live in another state, I would be happy to go visit you the next time I am on the road and, if I have enough of a reason to stay somewhere, I would definitely consider moving.

Strive to live a simple, nonmaterialistic, meaningful, and purposeful life. I'm a Luddite at heart, reminiscing about the halcyon days when we weren't overdependent on technology. I embrace sechel, not artificial intelligence, and modesty, not social media. 不患莫己知，求为可知也。"Don't fret about not being well-known; instead, strive to be worthy of being known" (Analects, book 4, verse 14). Jewish ideals inform and guide in all aspects of life. These include honesty and evenhandedness, including not saying anything essentially true but meant to mislead; not hurting people's feelings or saying negative things about them; giving others the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to do the right thing; having a higher purpose in life, including work; and learning for the sake of learning, including from everyone! But people with similar values come from many paths in life, the ultimate expression of which is being a mensch or, as Confucius termed it, a junzi, someone who sets an example through his or her actions, which speak louder than words.
Enjoy hiking, being in nature, lizard-watching, learning, artistic creativity, and dry and waggish humor (but not sarcasm). Introverted and sometimes lost in thought, but hopefully thoughtful in more ways than one! Look for ways to help others while avoiding self-serving feelings like validation and pride. Adventurous but also risk-averse.
I live in the desert, which teaches humility, not only because we are dwarfed by the majestic mountains and the expansive valleys but also because we are humbled by the miraculous, mind-blowing adaptations that allow life in all its forms to not merely survive but thrive in the most challenging of environments. Nature can be our teacher and help us improve our character traits.
I stopped practicing clinical medicine 30 years ago when it was no longer possible to do so ethically. My magnum opus has been the definitive treatise on Jewish medicine, a moral, integrated philosophy and system of practice, free of self-interest, the cure for the present degenerate system.

Real talk. I lost my partner of 9 years to a motorcycle accident last March. I’m not looking for or expecting the next great thing. If that happens down the road, cool. What I know is that I’d like to have more people in my life who share my values. I live with my two dogs and an incredibly elderly cat. I love swing dancing, singing (car, shower, karaoke, walking down the street), my family, my dogs. I’m a theater major with the beginnings of a few master’s degrees, none ever coming to fruition.
