I have a lot of creative and artistic traits, but I'm also athletic and love playing sports. That might not sound so strange, but I don't know a lot of people who are equally passionate about being both physically active and artistic. I can be completely serious one minute and a complete goofball the next. As an INFJ, I have the rarest of all the Myers-Brigss personality types (we make up less than 1% of the population). I think people have a hard time knowing what to make of me sometimes...
I'm a writer, a musician, and a photographer. A runner, a bike commuter, and an eco-friendly hippie who doesn't look or smell anything like a hippie. I'm a well-informed, socially-conscious, open-minded free thinker who reads like an open book. I am an honest, sincere, and open person. For better or worse, I don't know how to be anything other than myself.
I just finished my undergrad in Colorado when I was 29 and moved to the Pacific Northwest in August 2012. Obviously, I was a "non-traditional" student. I got a late start because when I was younger, I thought that I was going to work in the music industry in some capacity. I considered going to recording engineering school and luthier's school (to build guitars) while playing music in a little garage band, but I eventually decided that getting a degree was the best option for me. Now, I have a great job working for a vegan company.
I LOVE music (especially indie folk/rock). I know that everyone says they love music, but it truly is my greatest passion. I have a HUGE and ever-expanding music collection, and I always get excited about sharing my favorite music with willing victims. I make great mixtapes. Err... CDs. One of my favorite things to do is go to shows at smaller, more intimate venues. I like to play mellow, finger-picked instrumental songs on my acoustic guitar. My main instruments are guitar and bass, but I'm also learning to play didjeridu and mandolin. I'm always trying to get better at photography, too. I tend to be drawn to creative people and love talking about music and their other artistic passions with them.
I love cerebral independent/foreign films, documentaries, and silly/intelligent comedies. I enjoy red wine and good beer, but it's pretty rare for me to have more than 1-2 at a time. I can't stand bars unless I'm there to see a band or comedian.
I'm an aspiring world traveler. Life is short, and I want to see as much of the world as I possibly can! It's so damn expensive, though.

I'm a digital nomad (for lack of a better term) with a transient, minimalist lifestyle. I'm not opposed to settling down somewhere for the right person if visa runs are viable; I did this in Taiwan for years.

truthfully:I have spent most of my previous life trying to fit in to a society that often does not truly understand me or my motivations. I once though that love truly could overcome all and found out that truth its self is the only thing that can't be overcome, and is often blind to the fact that one may be attracted to someone or that one may have fallen in love with someone that truly is not good for them. LOVE is RISKY; life is a fine balance between responsibility, risk, reward, romance and happiness. I became widowed and retired at about the same time. I really did not have a plan or thought about this circumstance I find myself in. I have avoided eating animals for going on 15 years now. When I considered meeting new people, I found that I am not interested in building new friendships or bonding with people that do not share my thoughts and beliefs about plant-based eating. I am nearly 70, so why waste the effort. I have old friends who just think I'm weird, and have known me long enough to be accepting of my quirks, being vegan is just another one. Veggie since 1984, recent years vegan. I Love nature, I really do - not only nice views, or "fishing and hunting" as some claim. I shiver and agonize realizing all the pain, and unrighteousness committed against the living world, and against the vegetarian lifestyle. Malicious, insolent lies, false "scientific" research against vegetarians, and vegetarianism, especially it's more advanced types like vitarianism, veganism, fruitarianism etc. show us, that it's time to stand up and speak up for our rights. Not only ours, but also our "brothers in Darwin", and the rest of the Nature, that is being relentlessly tortured to death. As we see around, the politicians do almost nothing about solving those vital problems, and they quench any initiative to solve them, the "scientific" world works for the corrupted system, from one side proving our rights, and from the other side speaking against them, according to the salary. So we, veggies have to say something. We cannot say now, that "we didn't know about it" as people during WW2 might say about concentration camps. We know too much to keep silent. This is why I wish that connections between our people be established in order to support each-other, especially those who struggle with problems within the family and "friends", at work/school, in discussions about "our way", pointing to the real sources of today's problems, and giving the solutions...
