I spend a lot of time outdoors. I kayak, hike, bike, birdwatch, and love meeting all my wild neighbors. The year before Covid I also started taking surfing lessons.
I write and advocate for causes I care about and have had some successes. The circus no longer comes to my town, there's a beautiful preserved forest that does NOT have a cell phone tower, there's a large city park where ALL smoking is banned.....
My favorite issues are environmental, animal rights, and those concerning poverty and human rights. I think in another life I must have been a peasant in a peasant uprising.
This might seem odd but for fun I collect trash. My kayak often looks more like a garbage scow as I gather plastics and other trash while kayaking on the river and at the beach. I mostly just find trash but I've found some interesting stuff too, including something the bomb squad had to blow up on the spot. I'm still waiting to find either a briefcase full of half a million dollars of drug money no one claims or a chest of pirate's treasure sticking half out of a sandbar.
I love gardening... for wildlife, for food, for beauty, organically, and with native plants.
I enjoy a variety of things and am always eager to learn new ones. I'm open to suggestions.....

Hello veg friends!
Long time vegan living with a couple rescue guinea pigs in the DMV area. After around twenty years in the IT sector, I am transitioning to law. So I have a job as a paralegal but it's not too demanding and gives me some free time. As an introvert, I've found myself a bit a of a homebody over the past few years. Though I enjoy getting vegan food at various places in the DMV, primarily VA, like Loving Hut, Sunflower, and Chay Vegetarian.
I'm a lefty and will certainly get along with other people who are or lean left. I don't believe that animals are "things" and should have as much rights as people. I was at the march for Sanity, I've seen Colbert live, and willing to go to the occasional protest.
Some video games I'm playing include Final Fantasy 14, Warframe, and Elden Ring. I'm not great, but good enough to do some end game content. Maybe you could introduce me to a game or play with me sometime? It's a nice way to relax a bit.

It's wonderful to live close to the sea in my house to the North and in my home in a green part of Copenhagen from where one can go to Sweden by one of the longest combined sea-crossings in the world.
The Nordic countries/Scandinavia is a great region (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Island, Greenland and the Faeroe Islands). I live with a wide-open heart full of unconditional, expansive love. I practice random acts of kindness nearly everyday. I meditate, do online breathwork sessions and enjoy spiritual (not religious) books and events.
When I am not creating art, I volunteer at a local humane society and at a local food shelf. I love to walk in the woods on my property also. In addition, I enjoy working outdoors doing yard chores and flower gardening. Antiquing, auctions, yard sales, flea markets, music events and car trips to new places are some other things I like to do from time to time.
The mountains hold a special place in my heart and I now own a home on top of a small mountain in southern Vermont. My home is surrounded by flower gardens and several acres of woods. There is a lovely view of the valley below and a larger mountain in the distance.

I have a phobia about public speaking.
