I get the most fulfillment from just connecting with other beautiful souls - getting to know and appreciate them without agenda. I don't like describing myself, however I can say I am a calm, modest and patient man with a caring heart. If I had a "top priority," I would say it is devotion to God. I devote considerable time and attention to my own spiritual contemplations, introspections and prayer. I do my best to apply what I gain spiritually into spiritual action while living my daily life.
I have a relaxed, facetious, sarcastic and somewhat solemn way about me, and I am not without my own quirks and flaws which make me human. I grew up in Ohio and lived in Utah and California before moving to New York and recently moved back to Ohio. I have been vegan since September 2008 (vegetarian about a year and a half before switching). I have worked helping animals for the past 13+ years. I started as an adoption counselor at a humane society in Ohio, than a dog caregiver at a large sanctuary in Utah, and for over 8 years I was a caregiver for farm animals at a sanctuary. I have a degree in Criminal Justice, but after a few years realized that helping animals was the direction I wanted to go with my career and life, and I haven't had any regrets. I have one four legged child who runs my life (no two legged ones for me). When I am not taking care of the animals at work or my girl at home, I enjoy spending time outside going for walks, hikes and biking. When I just feel like staying around the house I enjoy reading and watching movies.

I'm a typical liberal arts person and an atheist. As to the atheist part, I think there's something much smarter than us in the universe, but it's been awfully quiet. I like eating at vegan restaurants, there are several within a few minutes of me. Often I'm quiet, sometimes not, it depends on the situation. I like to be witty and can get in a Monty Python mode if someone is receptive to it. I'll talk about anything but run from someone who wants to argue. I'm creative and always need some kind of project, usually it's writing or music. Most people like music, but I am a bit of a nut about blues, rock, and jazz. I've written some clever songs, IMHO. I'm flexible and will usually do anything others want to do, but I'm not big on travel, especially long trips. I've always been aware that my life is finite and I should live it fully, yet it has been simpler things like spending time with animals and nature that have met that need the most. I'm a digital nomad (for lack of a better term) with a transient, minimalist lifestyle. I'm not opposed to settling down somewhere for the right person if visa runs are viable; I did this in Taiwan for years.

Hello veg friends!
Long time vegan living with a couple rescue guinea pigs in the DMV area. After around twenty years in the IT sector, I am transitioning to law. So I have a job as a paralegal but it's not too demanding and gives me some free time. As an introvert, I've found myself a bit a of a homebody over the past few years. Though I enjoy getting vegan food at various places in the DMV, primarily VA, like Loving Hut, Sunflower, and Chay Vegetarian.
I'm a lefty and will certainly get along with other people who are or lean left. I don't believe that animals are "things" and should have as much rights as people. I was at the march for Sanity, I've seen Colbert live, and willing to go to the occasional protest.
Some video games I'm playing include Final Fantasy 14, Warframe, and Elden Ring. I'm not great, but good enough to do some end game content. Maybe you could introduce me to a game or play with me sometime? It's a nice way to relax a bit.
