I'm a vegan since the end of 2005 or the beginning of 2006 but I was a vegetarian many years before that, maybe 8 years before that....I'm not quite sure but something like that. I don't eat candy either. Enough about that! I have 3 cats and they mean the world to me. Anyway I'm very different and most people don't understand me only people that are very different themselves and that's not many, believe me. Things I like to do...hmm....I like listening to music, to sing, to sew, to photograph, to bowl (even though it doesn't happen that often). I guess I'm very creative. I work in the film industry, at times w/ the camera,
or the computer and clipboard.
One of my passions is cinema and am happy it gets to be how I make a living too--
-- but I do have an excellant work/life balance.
I love the mountains, ocean, nature and trying to
capture the illusive lovely light and sense of place in those places (photography) .
I like to hike in new and familiar places, bicycle, and skiing in winter is such a treat.
I have sole custody of my sweet daughter -age 6 (such a great age!) She is a joy.
She is as well traveled as some adults--we drove across the US 2X
and she has a passport and in my humble opinion a great kid!
I am a down to earth person, who in the space of a day, ( or maybe two days haha
this year I have been focusing on doing less and enjoying the passage of time more.) ....
could sand and varnish my boat, bicycle for a coffee, get a pedicure,
and make dinner for my friends.
I have been a semi-pro private chef-- hopefully you will like my cooking as well...
I have a deep spiritual core, and respect others beliefs.
I am present emotionally, steer clear of drama, ( keeping it at the theatre or cinema...).
I am liberal and logical regarding current events-- usually choose the path of least resistance,
but occasionally go for the hard road...( just for the challenge...).
Where ethics are concerned I strive to do what my conscience indicates.
I am from the east coast ( New England) and really love California ( been here 20 yrs).
I like to think I have the best of both coast's sensibilities--and have an adventurous, spontaneous side.
Keeping the car stocked w/ essentials helps a lot for those last minute jaunts to the beach or wherever
curiosity takes me.
I appreciate sensuality-- nothing like a sunny day, a natural hot spring , and one's lover!
I've sailed down the coast to Mexico, made wine in my kitchen w/ grapes I picked,
did yoga in India, photographed the Great Wall. Phew-- did I cover the bucket list yet LOL....
And yet all that seems easy and almost frivolous compared to just sitting still after a day w/ my child,
or relaxing just listening to the waves.....

I am a healthy & fit, smallish, reasonably intelligent, sensitive, caring, etc guy. Good with animals & children. Working, solvent but not wealthy. Currently self employed craftsman, spent 10 years or so in the music biz. Much travelled, Europe, Asia & States, on own account as well as work, but that was a long time ago. I think I am reasonably socially aware, I have done some community work here & there, particularly with the travelling community. Not very political, a plague on all their houses at the moment, tended towards the left/liberal or anarchist. Green leaning but a motorhead I am afraid, enjoy & use pre-war cars. Have had quite a roller coaster life. Long time marriage went away a few years ago. I hope I am steady, loyal & honest, at least I do try, might have to admit to being a tad eccentric! Don't have a TV, don't go clubbing, I enjoy my music, (rock, blues, folk, world, techno, radio3 Late Junction, etc). Have many old long term friends who I am close to & fond of but none of whom seem to fit into this scenario.

My diet has influenced a few people along the way and many a meat eater have enjoyed my cooking. However, none willing to change their ways for the sake of their own health. The closest is my elder sister who has taken to buying a lot of vegan substitute products and preparing a lot of vegan dishes for herself and sometimes shares with me, but she is still not even a vegetarian. Originally from England, moved to sunny California in 1995. First the beach, now the beautiful and peaceful desert.
I am vegan, have been since I was 21. It’s important to me that my partner is also vegan, or at least willing to adopt this lifestyle. This simply means that I want my partner to be compassionate and empathetic with loving intentions for himself and everyone else, regardless of the species to which they were born.
Basically, my ideal life would be in a world where everyone is safe and happy. I know that may sound naive but I believe that love is the answer to pretty much everything. If everyone felt safe and loved I don’t see how they could be violent or selfish or unkind in any way. So this is why I’m so frequently ‘accused’ of being an idealist, although this is generally chosen as a word to make me feel less than realistic and therefore somewhat stupid, I always accept the label with happiness:)
I believe we are all connected, and that the majority of humans will awaken to this in my lifetime.
I love animals so much! They are complete love. They don’t hold onto anger or resentment like so many humans seem to do and are so very easy to be around:)
I don’t really have any hobbies, but I do work out and keep myself healthy, strong and fit. I love a good movie and like a very wide range of music. I love to spend time with friends, good conversation is awesome! I love to have fun, and laughter is the very best way I’ve found to do that:)
I work from home, which is wonderful, working in pajamas is so much better than in a suit! Plus the commute is easy:)
