I studied nutrition but my work is in the legal area. I enjoy my dog, gardening, reading and walking, being outside, always learning, open-minded. Are you vaccinated? What a platform to start a conversation here. I certainly agree that animal research for vaccines is wrong, wrong, wrong. Sometimes we have to go outside our comfort zone. I am sure if I were younger, I would stand by morals and not take a vaccine that may contain animal and has been tested on animals. I guess we all go through phases at different times in our lives and sometimes our views change. In Islam, their belief is that if you consume an animal, and it is prayed over, it will be used for wellness and holiness in the person consuming it.

Me? Some friends would call me conservative and considerate, but sometimes too stubborn. Having lived in the States for 9 years has made me more an extrovert although the introvert me is still there. Most friends say that I am too independent which has made guys decide not to approach me.
I moved back to my hometown, Taiwan, in late 2007 because I was diagnosed with lymphoma, but now I am in remission. If you have any problem with this, I think it's better not to contact me.
I started teaching English since 2008 and have quit one university because of differences in teaching philosophy. I teach English during the day, sometimes in the evening too depending on the request. From time to time, I give workshops to teachers at local high school to English teachers when they are longing for new teaching techniques regarding TOEIC.

I seek a smart, childless, Vegan woman for Skype video-conversation and, hopefully, eventually, to meet in person. Me? After 22 years of teaching lots of Spanish and a little French, I'm an Ohio Supreme Court-certified Spanish-interpreter and interpreter-trainer. I walked well over 5,000 miles just to the university and back during my last fourteen years of teaching here in NW Ohio. I use no airconditioning, clothes-dryer, gas mower, cell-phone, microwave or garbage disposal. I've composted for over 23 years now here at my humble hermit's hovel and animal-sanctuary. I consume little, thriving on a simple, peaceful lifestyle, complete with Veganism, gardening, lots of international/multilingual news, sky-watching, bread-baking and beer-brewing. (I've been a news-junkie since the 80s, when my years in military intelligence left me addicted to knowing something about what the Hell's going on. Survived 317 parachute-jumps on three continents back in those days.) Also enjoy maintaining an old foreign car and motorcycle, feeding and watering yard-birds daily, spoiling my rescued dogs and cats, and spending quality time with a very small number of friends. I'm healthy as a Shetland pony. At 5'8", I weigh exactly what I did when I graduated from university in 1979, 134 pounds. Blood pressure: 100/60; total cholesterol: 165. No meds other than some aspirin every day. If you know the Briggs-Meyers scale, I'm an INFJ (more introverted than extroverted; more intuitive than sensing; (supposedly) more feeling than thinking; more judging than perceiving). I adore this stunningly beautiful planet and every non-human species that inhabits it (the species that humans haven't driven to extinction yet, at least), but I am a misanthropic antinatalist who considers our species to be a terminally self-obsessed, all-around, Earth-raping, animal-torturing disaster. I suppose I'm a Pagan, because it's the animals, Earth, Water, Air, and forests that I really worship. To be brutally honest, I don't have much respect for the "mainstream" religions - I've studied too much history and am too keen a watcher of current events! It would be an uphill struggle to try to have a balanced, respectful relationship with a woman who considers herself a "Christian" (of any type except possibly Gnostic), Jew, or Moslem, just as it would be hard for me to have a serious, long-term relationship with a woman who actually believes in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus or even (my favorite!) the Easter Bunny.

I’m a retired college professor, artist, and author looking for a compatible travel companion. I enjoyed 30 wonderful years with my wife who passed from cancer in 2019. I have a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics and one in Educational Technology. I fully retired from teaching in 2020. I’m the author of 12 books and manuals, mostly on computer-related topics.
I spend a lot of my time improving my garden when not out and about. It's a tranquil retreat with plenty of fruit trees, garden beds, and a hydroponic tower. There is also a tea house, a flowing stream, and plenty of seating areas.
I am passionate about promoting a plant-strong lifestyle through writing, hosting pot lucks, and networking. I discovered this way of eating in 2012, and it has given me a new lease on my health. I believe strongly that our society needs to move in that direction if we are to cure our chronic diseases, protect our environment, and reduce animal suffering.

A few words that would describe me are: Adventurous, Spontaneous, Curious, full of energy.. Im the guy that usually brings a cloth bag to go grocery shopping, to save a tree. I have come to realize that here in America, we generally live a much "faster paced" life with less traditions than some of the other cultures I have visited.
Other interests include outdoor interests including hiking, mountain biking, rollerblading, kneeboarding, snow skiing, rock climbing.. I also enjoy researching and learning about subjects that interest me. Im like a sponge and like to soak up information.

Dancing is something I enjoy and I am excited about opening up my singing voice much more.
I work with a charity for people with disabilities-helping people to have fun, exercise and learning experiences on bikes! also I am a massage therapist and work in the mountains as a wild crafter at times.
One of my favorite things to do is be in water, in the ocean, a lake, river or creek. I have had the pleasure of living in situations where I could do that daily, I really wish this again in my life and sharing this is really fun too.
As a teenager I made it my intention to live a life in which I did not look forward to getting drunk on the weekend, I never want to wish any of my working days to hurry up and finish-that would be wishing part of my life away and I realised that long ago too. I think I have been very successful up to now in avoiding such ways by enjoying doing different types of work which i get paid and different types of work I don't get paid for-I don't have chores as i enjoy cleaning and getting food and other life activities, I enjoy a lot of things I do, seeing them as valuable in themselves as experiences. I have loved working with kids and wish to do this a lot more.
I love mending, making and repurposing things and practices of living simply. I have done some talks and a few articles on this subject. In many ways I live simply, this primarily being so others can simply live; and I earn less, buy less,trash less and because of this I think I have a beautiful life in many ways.
Recently I have started speaking in schools about animal rights.

Now my day job is web design. My nighttime passion is dancing. I devote much of my free time in dance practice as a competitive ballroom dancer I compete currently at the championship level throughout the US. I enjoy movies/tv (esp. sci-fi), theatre (esp. musicals), occasional ice skating (I was quite adept in my 20s, but pretty rusty now), and chilling at a beach or retreat center. I use to do yoga, but not so much lately.
I also enjoy traveling. My last biggie was one month in Tawain. So inspired, I'm currently learning Mandarin Chinese. I'm still pretty bad (我的中文不好).
I'm also bi-coastal. Until the pandemic hit, I'd spend a few months/year in Pompano Beach (South Florida) where I have a condo. The remainder of the year, unless traveling, I spend at my primary home in Los Altos Hills (Northern California).

Life is precious. I want to live it fully. I try to live with intention. I have a close family and dear friends. I'm on here to find a life partner to share in some of my dreams and to dream new ones together. To share a common lifestyle.
If you also believe love is a choice, then we'll find each other. We're both "good" people, have obtained self-perspective through a sense of humor. We can roll with conceptual ideas. We appreciate culture. We believe in science. We know how to be a friend.
I'm a slow starter. As I want a life-long love just letting it unfold naturally allows me to find love in a best friend.
I'm attracted to the simpler things in life. Food for example. I dream of food. I'm a voracious eater. I eat nourishing complex foods. I spend lots of time planning, shopping, prepping, cooking and eating delicious yummy foods. I love to entertain my friends (they're my family Stateside). Stimulating conversation and silly banter makes for lots of laughs and a life well lived.
I've never figured out work-life balance as I am my work. I love it but it's hard. On the upside, I'm flexible when it comes to travels.
I travel lightly. My home looks like I just moved in. As I deal in product I don't need much stuff. Easier to stay organized that way.
Putzing around a calm home helps me relax. I read, mess with the cat, take hot baths, drink a cup of tea, light a candle, catch a drama, documentary, Westworld, Indie or a foreign flick. I'm generally in bed early so I can work out the next day. For health and sanity.
I grew up internationally. SF is my home town - having lived here for 25 years - but high on my list is to visit Scandinavia part of the year. My parents are aging and my son lives there. It's a pretty nice place to be from... I would love to see more of the world as well. Searching for the next place to eat, finding street food, following in the footsteps of Haruki Murakami's and absorb the local culture from a cafe chair is good enough for me.
