Finding it impossible to date someone who is ok with killing animals to shove in their mouth. I’ve volunteer at an animal rescue sanctuary, and love the place. All of the beautiful things in life are so much better when shared with someone special,..... music, art, a poem, reading a good book or story aloud, food/cooking,hiking around. Ya know what I mean? Dating someone nice can be fun but finding someone special, now that's the challenge. I'm looking to cherish, lift up, to be both passionate and compassionate, to laugh with and learn from one another. Hiking Hollywood Hills, supervising volunteers with Tree People near Mullholland above the Valley. Lately as a vegetarian not just involved in environmental but animal concerns I've been a regular volunteer at Gentle Barn. A farm animal rescue place that is so beautiful in so many ways. I like small unique restaurants over cookie cutter ones, am aware of others feelings, I've been told I'm attentive and romantic, like to play piano and sing as well as percussion instruments, work with and ride horses occasionally, , currently in college for Business and Art History, Coordinate volunteers for charities, am from an awesome loving family and know how fortunate I am to be, a 5th generation L. A. native, a lover of animals both domestic and otherwise and a bit uncomfortable writing about or selling myself too much but when in Rome..... Like most people I like "nice things" but truly appreciate the important things. I'm in a career field helping those in need. Not always what I want to do but it is what God wants me to do. I like to drive up the coast and stop in fun or interesting places along the way. Would much rather talk on the phone and meet after a few e-mails where one can hear those important inflections. Yes?

Much has changed in my life in the past 5 years, and now I am looking forward to the age of retirement, in a country that has taken my money over the years and spent it elsewhere. So the coming “retirement” will be more of a reinvention as I move from the “Big City” to a more self sufficient lifestyle.
If you too are thinking of a plant-based life with less stress, communing with nature, and being more creative, we may have a connection and that would be great. Not talking off-grid, I have to have Internet and lights, just a much smaller community that still holds values I did 30-40 years ago.
So if you wanna chat and see where things go, the coffee/tea is on me.
Here is some things about me ... I dislike this part as is sounds like I'm boasting, and that is not normal for me. Here are some of the personal highlights of my 50 plus years off the top of my head, and things like education and employment are not in there ;)
- I have toured Europe, East and West, in the Early 80s in a punk band
- Have created sculptures and artwork that sold and is publicly displayed
- Worked as an assignment photographer for two newspapers and a news magazine
- Own my own record label, and have composed and recorded nine complete albums
- Along with friends, and supporters have started two totally different charities
- Built my own home from the ground up with my own hands
- Climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and slept with giraffes
- Cycled and walked across all of Europe
... and none of these, or any one thing in my past defines me, because I believe that every day is a new one that holds endless possibilities, fun and adventure. Most of all no one should ever be limited by anything. Given enough time, effort and determination human beings can do amazing things, all of us.

Born in the UK, the family emigrated to Oshawa, ON in '51. I was a flunky in high school, not paying attention. Once in Waterloo at both universities, I received straight “A's” studying philosophy and comparative religions. While I may have dropped out, I've never ceased my innate curiosity to follow the money, which for this lad, explains how things unfold. I've lived in three provinces within our Dominion and spent two years in NZ in the '80's.
My vocation and first love gas always been woodworking. It was something that came natural, as I excelled in school projects. After a long career spanning all the sub genres such as millwork, cabinetry and furniture making, to name 3; I finished all that long ago, ending up making professional loudspeakers.
A confirmed ruralista, sporting a now 13 year dietary regimen of no animal foods, read whole foods plant-based, I find few on either gender divide side, even interested and curious about that fringe element of society to question these outside alternative behaviours. In my fourth and final quarter, I am able to sate that I own this passive solar designed and built home and homestead, no CC debt, take no prescription meds, have all my own teeth included all 4 third molars, and sport no rug. These locks are mine.
I grow a large veggie patch; then, dry, freeze, can and store each season's gifts and offerings. Religiously? The short answer is that I'm a deeply spiritual heathen. The long answer is found in every moment, as all things, all forms all life, have arisen from molten lava eons ago and evolved. Indeed, this is our moment, since without further evolution and quickly people, we may be going the way all swivilizations have gone before us.
We can have hope with Hopium and heroes on the cultural and national stage. An optimistic outlook is found in community by sharing, giving freely without expectation and having feelings that we will get that foothold and build the new E-air-th.

I love to hike, go for walks, mountain bike. I would love to ski more. I like to do things outdoors and be active, but I have to admit I’m definitely a Netflix Binger as well. I’m pretty middle of the road politically. I used to lean more to the right, but now lean more to the left. I strongly believe in doing what we can to minimize climate change, I’m financially conservative, but definitely not a Trumper. I spend most of my time in El Paso where i work, but do also own a home in Albuquerque where my two of my children live. I visit them every few months. I also have a daughter in NYC and a son in Japan. I go to NYC a couple times a year, and I’m trying to coordinate with my son to go visit Japan. I would love to travel more but work gets in the way. I would say that I am pretty balanced and well rounded - I'm an academic (biology and anthropology) who can repair or build all kinds of things. I'm also an artist and traveler. I'm generally clean and organized but not OCD. I'm cultured but not a snob. I generally think outside the mainstream - good thing I don't mind being out of step with the crowd. I'm a lifelong vegetarian and have eaten a mostly plant-based diet for almost 40 years but don't call myself a vegan. I can enjoy a shot of wheatgrass juice or a single-malt scotch. My politics are pretty left - think Noam Chomsky. I am anti-war and don't want to be around racists, bible-thumpers, liars or other kinds of hateful thinking. I want to leave the world a better place as best I can.

I live in Fallon Nevada with my 3 dogs,two Bassett hounds and a corgi mix. I’m retired and lead a simple life. I was a baker in a previous life/career and I still love to bake. It’s therapy to me. I do not smoke tobacco but am 420 friendly.It is legal here in Nevada! And no I don’t sit around all day getting high lol... I do it only occasionally and/or to help me with insomnia. It’s not the wicked weed it’s been portrayed as and has some fantastic medicinal properties. Research it and you might be surprised! I do not want a tobacco smoker for a partner. I drink occasionally. I am responsible. I am sincere. I am honest. I don’t lie,cheat,or steal. Been there done that. I would love my partner to have these traits as well because I’ve had my heart trashed before and do not wish that ever again! Compassion is also a good trait to have.
After high school I enlisted in the navy...right after boot camp and A school I was sent to a tiny atoll in the Indian Ocean called Diego Garcia for 13 months. Beautiful place but I didn’t appreciate it as I should have(young & dumb). After this I was sent to a ship and got to see a lot of the Far East. After my 4 years in the navy I got out,married and had 2 wonderful sons both adults now who still live in SoCal. I worked in the grocery business(Vons) for almost 30 years but had to retire early for let’s say personal reasons. I remarried a Tica (Costa Rican) but that only lasted 4 years. After living in the rat race of SoCal I decided to move here to Nevada for a much slower and peaceful life. I grew up in a small town right over the border in California so I still have family here. Was in a relationship for 6 years with someone who turned out to be not as honest and trustworthy as I am. I had to find out from a friend whose daughter worked for my so called fiancé! Love is blind they say yeah? She left and now here I yam...putting myself out here for y’all to see.
