I get the most fulfillment from simply connecting with other beautiful souls - getting to know and appreciate them without selfish ego agendas. I intend to live a life focused on charitable works, spirituality, health, athletics and fitness. I am quite athletic and fit, enjoy a variety of sports and activities and love being outdoors in nature. Fresh air and sunshine are essentials. I like to be active and keep in decent shape; not buff, but not pudgy either… kind of a happy medium! I like to do things outdoors and be active, but I have to admit I can Netflix Binge with the best of them, or spend an entire day moving from couch, to chair, to lawn chair, to bed, and back to the couch reading good a book. I’m pretty middle of the road politically. I used to lean more to the right, but now lean more to the left. I strongly believe in doing what we can to minimize climate change. I spend most of my time in El Paso where i work, but also own a home in Albuquerque where my two of my children live. I visit them every few months. I also have a daughter in Minneapolis and a son in Virginia Beach who I visit once or twice a year. I would love to travel more but work gets in the way. My ‘plan’ is to cut back to 20 hrs/week at age 62 and I’m on track to meet that goal. I’m excited and apprehensive about it at the same time. I sooo want to work less, but I sooo sooo don’t want to be bored. I think going part-time will be a good stepping stone for me, and will give me more time to travel. In the meantime, I’m just enjoying my job and interacting with my clients and co-workers and visiting my kiddos when I can.

Astronomer, Vegan since 1980s, from England, have travelled much. Interested in astronomy since an early age and have now worked over 20 years in galaxy evolution research, in several countries including USA and Portugal. After an unexpectedly long period of unemployment, during which I did WWOOF (organic growing) volunteering, and animal rights activism in the Liverpool area (kind of where my journey started), I got a job offer 2021 and took up the research again, this time in Granada, Spain (may return to UK sometime 2023). I have met a few vegans here, and took part in a big march in Madrid against bullfighting. Interested in hill walking, running (I'm in Vegan Runners) , birdwatching, science fiction, vegan events (went to Vegan Campout), environment activism, some live music, but I do suffer from anxiety and have not very much experience with dating.

Since my best friend, Dougald, left this world on June 28th this year,
My sadness hasn't diminished even a single day.
But the times of sadness have gradually decreased.
Most of us have feelings.
When we're sad, we don't need to resist it,
But rather understand why we're sad.
This experience of losing a dear friend
Has made me feel immense regret for his short life!
Because he was such a kind person!
Many say that for every effect, there's a cause.
Perhaps his early passing was due to this causal relationship.
I understand very well how the law of attraction works.
When you're happy,
The vibration you emit attracts things related to happiness.
When you're sad, you attract similar things that make you sad.
When you're angry, you attract similar things that make you angry.
... and so on.
So, to have a fulfilling life, the vibration you emit is crucial!
You can be sad, but don't let it persist for too long.
Learn how to transform sadness into strength.
When you're feeling down, realize that
Most people don't know how to control their emotions.
If you could handle it with a relaxed attitude, they wouldn't affect you.
Impermanence is a normal part of life; there's no need to lament it.
The important thing is to accept impermanence and strive to do what you love.
It will make you want to live a more meaningful, fulfilling, and joyful life!

I became widowed and retired at about the same time. I really did not have a plan or thought about this circumstance I find myself in. I have avoided eating animals for going on 15 years now. When I considered meeting new people, I found that I am not interested in building new friendships or bonding with people that do not share my thoughts and beliefs about plant-based eating. I am nearly 70, so why waste the effort. I have old friends who just think I'm weird, and have known me long enough to be accepting of my quirks, being vegan is just another one.
