I am definitely an animal lover and I don’t eat any of them. I’m the guy pulling over to help a turtle cross the road and get safely to the other side. The call of the loon or an owl are a couple of my favourite sounds.
I would describe myself as optimistic and have been known to say that my glass is ¾ full. I enjoyed my career and worked hard, but I always tried to take time for the fun things in life as I believe a healthy balance between work and play is very important. In my free time I enjoy golf, water-skiing, kayaking, walking through the forest, relaxing in my hammock, or reading a good book by the fire. I love to travel and have been fortunate enough to see some awesome places. Visiting the Arctic was an amazing experience, as was Africa and Australia to name a few. Hawaii is a favourite destination and I return there each year to do some volunteer work to raise funds for local Maui charities.

I love all animals but have a special bond with my cats. I have quite a few and I foster. I don’t have a dog only because I don’t have the amount of time I feel is necessary for one. I don’t believe in keeping a dog in a kennel all day while I’m at work. I’m single and probably will be for a long time as there aren’t any vegetarian cat lovers where I live or in the surrounding areas. Oh well, I like to read and watch movies and spend a lot of time in my garden when not working or remodeling, always something to do at home. What's a girl to do, sulk? Not me.

It has been suggested by some that my “about me” section is a bit pessimistic so I will attempt to give a better description of me and what I am looking for….so here it goes. I am and have been described as a nice person with a nice personality. Of course who’s mother wouldn’t say that about her kids :-) my siblings on the other hand…would say that too but would quickly follow it up with “as long as you don’t piss her off.” I lead a pretty busy life with work, school. Love being outside with my camera. That being said, I’m looking for someone who can pick up and head for the woods on a moments notice, able to hike 5 miles or more…..a day on the golf course works for me too...although I haven't done that in a while, rather be hiking or camping. Not opposed to vegging out on the couch for a good movie either. I love to laugh and, if my windows are open, can probably be heard down the street when watching “Wipe Out.”
