I lived and was raised in the rural area of Muscatine, IA (from 1954-1974) along the Mississippi River where most of the food we ate was organic (before it actually became labeled organic as it is now) and drank free, unfiltered spring-fed water (before bottled water got popular) while growing up…FYI, I was one of the last of the fortunate school kids to have attended real, authentic one-room country schoolhouses with a real outhouse(!), outdoor hand-pump for well water, the school bell to ring, the American flag to raise and actually SAY the pledge of allegiance to the American flag inside and say the Lord's Prayer all together…Wonderful, cherished, youthful memories...

A tapestry of perspectives and playfulness intertwined with intrigue and bantering wit could describe the first melding of our colorful personalities. The next date might include a dash of romance over blackened rainbow trout (vegan option) sautued with garlic, lemon, Bragg and orange juice, with a side of artichoke and tantalizing veggies, followed by a board game in front of a cozy, crackling fire (winner tickles loser! ) and maybe a spontaneous beach stroll from my patio. I feel comfortable with myself around others, but have found myself being a conformists in one breath and a rebel in the next. Friends say my greatest outer attributes are my enthusiasm and smile; still, on the inside, compassion and sincerity take precedence. What is your soulwater? Would you drink or swim in it, or would it be an occassional poem? Whatever the case, envision it better with me.
