I’m a retired college professor, artist, and author looking for a compatible travel companion. I enjoyed 30 wonderful years with my wife who passed from cancer in 2019. Before she passed, she encouraged me to find a vegan travel partner. I've found fulfilling relationships, but still looking for a suitable travel partner.
I love gardening, writing, massage, cooking, and travel. Some of my favorite outings include gardens (especially in Maui!), live theater, theme parks, museums, and art shows. My mornings start out with some meditation, breathing exercises, Qi Gong, then a workout. I love creating things, whether it be digital or something eye-catching for the garden. I have a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics and one in Educational Technology. I fully retired from teaching in 2020. I’m the author of 12 books and manuals, mostly on computer-related topics.
I spend a lot of my time in the garden when not out and about. It's a tranquil retreat with plenty of fruit trees, garden beds, and a hydroponic tower. There is also a tea house, a flowing stream, and plenty of seating areas.
I am passionate about promoting a plant-strong lifestyle through writing, hosting pot lucks, and networking. I discovered this way of eating in 2012, and it has given me a new lease on my health. I believe strongly that our society needs to move in that direction if we are to cure our chronic diseases, protect our environment, and reduce animal suffering.
Now that Covid has eased up, I’m looking forward to finding a compatible traveling companion with similar eating style.

Most of my time is focused on work as an educator and taking care of my adult daughters who are disabled. I am a pretty odd duck, I can be the sweetest person you have ever met, but I also have a lot of sass at times and prefer to spend time with those who match my energy and don't drain it. My theology is most aligned with Buddhism, although I identify as agnostic. I have a strong need to learn new things and love having conversations about the metaphysical and unusual. I Lived in Canada for Twenty years and some years in the US . I had worked in the Arts in many Mediums while in Canada. My family moved around between the US and the UK when i was a kid, so i have a bit of a travel adventurous streak. I am interested in Architecture and photography Animal charities and animal rights. ....I just finished a three week road trip last spring 2018 in the western states of the US, love those big skies and eager to do it again! National Parks! Like to see all of them before they Disappear! Hoping to visit friends a catching up in the Southern States, it has been a few years since i saw them last....better in person! this Fall 2019 ifal goes to plan, just short visits. While here in the UK, when ever i can get away for the weekend, Oxfordshire my old stomping ground, canal walks a must i do this when i can, train makes this trip easy to get to. Not driving at the moment! I would be doing longer distant trips places that are on my bucket list, Yorkshire Dales, Highlands - Scotland....mabe just all of it!! Waite a minute, maybe i should wait until i get more work hours!!! I work for a Care company part time at the moment and also a house sitter. On a typical Friday night, I enjoy meeting friends for happy hour usually followed by being in bed by 11PM. Writing is a big part of what I do for a living, but describing myself is something else altogether. Veganism has become a big part of my life and often it's hard to find like-minded people. I like the challenge of making whole and healthy vegan meals that everyone enjoys (vegan or not). Cooking has become a significant hobby. Of course, conversation is always key and I am pretty good at seeing more than one side of an issue. Honesty and integrity are very, very important. I can also be pretty funny and a bit of a story teller. I try to keep things in perspective in dealing with the ups and downs of life. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail (at least in the short term) I'm a good and reliable friend and support for my family and friends. Apart from love, my greatest passion is compassion.
I also enjoy a fair bit of yoga, travel, spending time with my adult kids, and friends. I work maybe a bit too hard, but I could arrange to work less to spend time with the right person.
I've spent many years raising my kids and working. I want to feel in love again and share the joy of intimate friendship.
