I'm a digital nomad (for lack of a better term) with a transient, minimalist lifestyle. I'm not opposed to settling down somewhere for the right person if visa runs are viable; I did this in Taiwan for years.
I've been self-employed since the age of 20 and have lived abroad since 2016. Originally from the USA, though I have no intention to live there again. To stay active, I particularly enjoy cycling and exploring on foot, as well as occasional hiking. At home I'm content with films/series, reading, and gaming. When I'm in a new city, I always like to check out the museums/galleries, parks, and botanic garden (if there is one), usually with camera in hand. I used to sell photos for a living, and photography remains a leisure hobby.
I enjoy my independence, although I must admit, ever since I was young I daydreamed of traveling with a partner. That remains my desire, but it seems most people's conception of "travel" is what they see on social media.

truthfully:I have spent most of my previous life trying to fit in to a society that often does not truly understand me or my motivations. I once though that love truly could overcome all and found out that truth its self is the only thing that can't be overcome, and is often blind to the fact that one may be attracted to someone or that one may have fallen in love with someone that truly is not good for them. LOVE is RISKY; life is a fine balance between responsibility, risk, reward, romance and happiness. I became widowed and retired at about the same time. I really did not have a plan or thought about this circumstance I find myself in. I have avoided eating animals for going on 15 years now. When I considered meeting new people, I found that I am not interested in building new friendships or bonding with people that do not share my thoughts and beliefs about plant-based eating. I am nearly 70, so why waste the effort. I have old friends who just think I'm weird, and have known me long enough to be accepting of my quirks, being vegan is just another one. When I thought about dating again, I decided they must be plant-based, vegan or vegetarian. My sweet wife was all of those at different times. Veggie since 1984, recent years vegan. I Love nature, I really do - not only nice views, or "fishing and hunting" as some claim. I shiver and agonize realizing all the pain, and unrighteousness committed against the living world, and against the vegetarian lifestyle. Malicious, insolent lies, false "scientific" research against vegetarians, and vegetarianism, especially it's more advanced types like vitarianism, veganism, fruitarianism etc. show us, that it's time to stand up and speak up for our rights. Not only ours, but also our "brothers in Darwin", and the rest of the Nature, that is being relentlessly tortured to death. As we see around, the politicians do almost nothing about solving those vital problems, and they quench any initiative to solve them, the "scientific" world works for the corrupted system, from one side proving our rights, and from the other side speaking against them, according to the salary. So we, veggies have to say something. We cannot say now, that "we didn't know about it" as people during WW2 might say about concentration camps. We know too much to keep silent. This is why I wish that connections between our people be established in order to support each-other, especially those who struggle with problems within the family and "friends", at work/school, in discussions about "our way", pointing to the real sources of today's problems, and giving the solutions...

My educational background is BS in Chemistry and a Masters in Math and Computer Science. Most of my career has been in computer science. I ran a software company for 14 years and sold it. I subsequently got bored and gave myself a job.
Now my day job is web design. My nighttime passion is dancing. I devote much of my free time in dance practice as a competitive ballroom dancer I compete currently at the championship level throughout the US. In theory, I practice presence / mindfulness and try to avoid speaking through ego. In reality, I'm outwardly a normal human being, totally not perfect, and I have my unconscious moments, too.
It would be great to find someone who shares a similar desire to be more conscious and is willing to both give and take helpful reminders when we start to slip up. Finding someone truly interested in this has been rather difficult for me. It is something I have had a hard time finding through traditional dating sites, so hoping to have better luck here.
I'm conscious of my physical desire for a partner and I'm following it with as much awareness as I can. I want to try to provide you with the masculinity that you desire from my side of a partnership while I keep from slipping into unconsciously identifying as a "side."
Some hobbies: backpacking, fermenting, movies, music, making smoothies and kale chips, day hikes, running, board/video games, and math/physics. I really like road trips, nature preserves, national parks, and occasional travel. Right now I'm a bit of a homebody, but I absolutely crave occasional social interaction. Usually, I much prefer to stay in and cook meals and watch a movie / Netflix / play something (alone or together) rather than go out to dinner, but I enjoy going to the movies, classical music, opera, and other live performances.
During the pandemic, I ran at least 10k every single day to avoid lockdown boredom in the steep Santa Cruz Mountains. Although I've reduced that due to repetitive injury, I care a lot about my health and hope you care about your health, too! I prefer to use natural healing for physical/mental health -- holistic medicine, diet, exercise, supplements, and meditation/present-mindedness to ease stress. I'm not on board with some pharmaceuticals used in conventional medicine that only treat symptoms!
