I became widowed and retired at about the same time. I really did not have a plan or thought about this circumstance I find myself in. I have avoided eating animals for going on 15 years now. When I considered meeting new people, I found that I am not interested in building new friendships or bonding with people that do not share my thoughts and beliefs about plant-based eating. I am nearly 70, so why waste the effort. I have old friends who just think I'm weird, and have known me long enough to be accepting of my quirks, being vegan is just another one. I also tend to keep up with what is going on in the world and more often than not stay away from mainstream media because I see a lot of deception in our world today. I didn't take the thing in 2020 and avoid health care centers and hospitals like the plague.
I have a passion for eating raw fruits and vegetables, being aware of what I put into my body both physically and mentally, taking care of my health, being outside in vast areas of nature, learning more about myself and understanding the world as a whole, spending time with friends, and finding community among others.

My favorite outdoor activities include cycling, hiking, camping, kayaking, snorkeling, and sailing. No, I do not own a boat. I'm learning to sail on Hilo Bay. My regular bike ride is 26 miles, and my last hike was about 7 miles.
