Finding it impossible to date someone who is ok with killing animals to shove in their mouth. I’ve volunteer at an animal rescue sanctuary, and love the place. All of the beautiful things in life are so much better when shared with someone special,..... music, art, a poem, reading a good book or story aloud, food/cooking,hiking around. Ya know what I mean? Dating someone nice can be fun but finding someone special, now that's the challenge. I'm looking to cherish, lift up, to be both passionate and compassionate, to laugh with and learn from one another. Hiking Hollywood Hills, supervising volunteers with Tree People near Mullholland above the Valley. Lately as a vegetarian not just involved in environmental but animal concerns I've been a regular volunteer at Gentle Barn. A farm animal rescue place that is so beautiful in so many ways. I like small unique restaurants over cookie cutter ones, am aware of others feelings, I've been told I'm attentive and romantic, like to play piano and sing as well as percussion instruments, work with and ride horses occasionally, , currently in college for Business and Art History, Coordinate volunteers for charities, am from an awesome loving family and know how fortunate I am to be, a 5th generation L. A. native, a lover of animals both domestic and otherwise and a bit uncomfortable writing about or selling myself too much but when in Rome..... Like most people I like "nice things" but truly appreciate the important things. I'm in a career field helping those in need. Not always what I want to do but it is what God wants me to do. I like to drive up the coast and stop in fun or interesting places along the way. Would much rather talk on the phone and meet after a few e-mails where one can hear those important inflections. Yes?

I was a social worker for nearly 20 years. I’ve always worked with children. I have a strong sense of wanting to help others. I’m currently working in children’s mental health. Despite it being a very full on job, which I absolutely love, I can switch off in the evening.
I have a strong sense of right and wrong and I do my own research. I’ve known for a long time that what we’re told about government, big pharma and multi conglomerate corporations isn’t the truth. It therefore won’t be a surprise to read that I have chosen not to poison myself with a vaccination. I’ve spoken out about this a lot over the last 5 years and lost a lot of friends. I’m okay with that. We all have to take a stand for what we believe is right.
There are two things I can’t compromise on; I won’t go out with anyone who eats animals and I can’t see myself with someone who willingly chooses to turn a blind eye to what’s happening in the world and the freedoms being removed from us. Beyond that, I’m open!

In theory, I practice presence / mindfulness and try to avoid speaking through ego. In reality, I'm outwardly a normal human being, totally not perfect, and I have my unconscious moments, too.
It would be great to find someone who shares a similar desire to be more conscious and is willing to both give and take helpful reminders when we start to slip up. Finding someone truly interested in this has been rather difficult for me. It is something I have had a hard time finding through traditional dating sites, so hoping to have better luck here.
I'm conscious of my physical desire for a partner and I'm following it with as much awareness as I can. I want to try to provide you with the masculinity that you desire from my side of a partnership while I keep from slipping into unconsciously identifying as a "side."
Some hobbies: backpacking, fermenting, movies, music, making smoothies and kale chips, day hikes, running, board/video games, and math/physics. I have a ton of appreciation of film, classical music, game design, and animation. I also really enjoy books, audiobooks, graphic novels and live performances. I really like road trips, nature preserves, national parks, and occasional travel. Right now I'm a bit of a homebody, but I absolutely crave occasional social interaction. Usually, I much prefer to stay in and cook meals and watch a movie / Netflix / play something (alone or together) rather than go out to dinner, but I enjoy going to the movies, classical music, opera, and other live performances.
During the pandemic, I ran at least 10k every single day to avoid lockdown boredom in the steep Santa Cruz Mountains. Although I've reduced that due to repetitive injury, I care a lot about my health and hope you care about your health, too! I prefer to use natural healing for physical/mental health -- holistic medicine, diet, exercise, supplements, and meditation/present-mindedness to ease stress. I'm not on board with some pharmaceuticals used in conventional medicine that only treat symptoms!

I became widowed and retired at about the same time. I really did not have a plan or thought about this circumstance I find myself in. I have avoided eating animals for going on 15 years now. When I considered meeting new people, I found that I am not interested in building new friendships or bonding with people that do not share my thoughts and beliefs about plant-based eating. I am nearly 70, so why waste the effort. I have old friends who just think I'm weird, and have known me long enough to be accepting of my quirks, being vegan is just another one.
