In theory, I practice presence / mindfulness and try to avoid speaking through ego. In reality, I'm outwardly a normal human being, totally not perfect, and I have my unconscious moments, too.
It would be great to find someone who shares a similar desire to be more conscious and is willing to both give and take helpful reminders when we start to slip up. Finding someone truly interested in this has been rather difficult for me. It is something I have had a hard time finding through traditional dating sites, so hoping to have better luck here.
I'm conscious of my physical desire for a partner and I'm following it with as much awareness as I can. I want to try to provide you with the masculinity that you desire from my side of a partnership while I keep from slipping into unconsciously identifying as a "side."
Some hobbies: backpacking, fermenting, movies, music, making smoothies and kale chips, day hikes, running, board/video games, and math/physics. I have a ton of appreciation of film, classical music, game design, and animation. I also really enjoy books, audiobooks, graphic novels and live performances. My creative outlets are through photography, video game development, philosophy, and, during the pandemic, I began experimenting with electronica. I'd love to meet someone with a couple similar interests, yet allowing space to pursue our own interests where they differ.
I'm not into labels, but my personality type was most recently INFP-A (MBTI), 5w4 (enneagram). Love-language was "physical touch" followed closely by "quality time."
I really like road trips, nature preserves, national parks, and occasional travel. Right now I'm a bit of a homebody, but I absolutely crave occasional social interaction. Usually, I much prefer to stay in and cook meals and watch a movie / Netflix / play something (alone or together) rather than go out to dinner, but I enjoy going to the movies, classical music, opera, and other live performances.
During the pandemic, I ran at least 10k every single day to avoid lockdown boredom in the steep Santa Cruz Mountains. Although I've reduced that due to repetitive injury, I care a lot about my health and hope you care about your health, too! I prefer to use natural healing for physical/mental health -- holistic medicine, diet, exercise, supplements, and meditation/present-mindedness to ease stress. I'm not on board with some pharmaceuticals used in conventional medicine that only treat symptoms!

I'm mainly a free spirit, exploring and questioning everything, trying to go deep below the surface in my search for Truth, which is a large part of my Spiritual Quest. Having traveled a less traditional path in life, I consider myself rather unique as a result of those experiences.
I'm sensitive, intuitive and respond emotionally to certain music and uplifting movies. Sometimes the tears in my eyes feel unmanly, but more often, I'm grateful for the feeling of connection this comes from. I'm aware that what we think has a lot to do with everything in our life. I like to Hike & Bike, Sail & Ski, as well as the rest of the usual things. I don't watch much TV but do spend time on my computer researching and studying things. I have a 14 year-old daughter that lives in the same town, but does not live with me. I enjoy philosophical discussions and have lots of questions, and maybe some answers too. In the last few years I've given up on running, and found that Yoga has solved the back problems I used to have. I am grateful that I'm healthy, and an in good shape.
I'm looking for someone that I can share life with in a way that we compliment each other....not own each other. I'm a vegetarian mainly for spiritual/Karmic reasons, but you don't need to be. If you cook dinner, I feel the least I can do is wash the dishes. I open doors for ladies by default, but will generally try to do what is most comfortable for others, even when I get into a playful/goofy mood where I might get carried away.

I enjoy music, photography, countryside, walking, art, antiques, cats, canal boating.
Favourite music: a wide range from classical to rock and jazz. I often enjoy music that challenges me a little and I don't get on very well with bland pop and middle-of-the-road.
Favourite places: Anywhere where there's water. The Kerry coast, Cornish cliffs, the Grand Canal in Venice, Lake Tahoe.
I prefer a peaceful country life but don't mind the excitement of a vibrant city from time to time (favourite cities Venice, San Francisco, Cologne).
I've had a number of careers including civil servant, photographer, journalist and for the last 35 years software developer. I'm now largely retired and spend my time creating music, making films, taking photographs and renovating my house (see below). I'm heavily involved in local arts projects.
I moved to Yorkshire a few years ago with a plan to complete one last house renovation job before I get too old for it. I've been so wrapped up in the wonderfully rich and varied artistic life in the area that I only started at the beginning of 2020.
