I'm a digital nomad (for lack of a better term) with a transient, minimalist lifestyle. I'm not opposed to settling down somewhere for the right person if visa runs are viable; I did this in Taiwan for years.
I've been self-employed since the age of 20 and have lived abroad since 2016. Originally from the USA, though I have no intention to live there again. To stay active, I particularly enjoy cycling and exploring on foot, as well as occasional hiking. At home I'm content with films/series, reading, and gaming. When I'm in a new city, I always like to check out the museums/galleries, parks, and botanic garden (if there is one), usually with camera in hand. I used to sell photos for a living, and photography remains a leisure hobby.
I enjoy my independence, although I must admit, ever since I was young I daydreamed of traveling with a partner. That remains my desire, but it seems most people's conception of "travel" is what they see on social media.

My previous full time structural engineering job of almost five years finally came to an end in September of 2017, but I found an even better one and will continue until either they or I move on to something else. I have been a long-time student of relationships, which baffle and fill my mind with wonder, all at the same time. I know that aspects, that we are fully conscious of, AND less conscious of are important when creating a relationship: the obvious wants, AND the ones that aren't so obvious, but feel very good when they're there, such as acceptance, positive regard, and passion.
I like to be active, and I am both "a few extra pounds" and "athletic." I've been doing an increasing amount of yoga; so far, my favorite is hot Vinyasa Yoga.
I have been blown away (in a really great way) listening to Eckhart Tolle.
I think I have a great sense of humor, but that's hard to express in words, and humor seems pretty subjective. I simply find a lot of things very funny.
During my life I've nurtured both human and non-human children; I've been a nanny to many children, and a friend/guardian to many non-humans. I love being around both.
I work as a home hospice nurse, which is an excellent outlet for providing compassion; I enjoy that home hospice includes physiology/microbiology/anatomy, psychology, spirituality, creativity, sociology, education, and yes, love. I'm also interested in actual health (vs. Western medicine as it stands).
I feel that I thoroughly explored career opportunities before becoming a nurse: a nanny, pre-school teacher's aid, tofu-maker, undercover agent, waitress, dance and aerobic instructor (as well as full-time dance student), secretary, hospital/ED unit assistant, receptionist, and salesperson. I like being a nurse because I continually LEARN, and there are many opportunities to assist others to learn (when they want to, that is!).
I've been relatively adventurous in my life, starting with childhood, growing up with an adventurous parent! Then, in teenage-hood, I took some solo bicycle adventures. It's continued into "adult-hood" with a nice swim adventure, and attempting motorcycling as transportation(ended abruptly with a fractured leg).

Having just read my previous profile I wonder how I ever came to write those words. What mood was I in when I woke that morning? However, this is me today, writing a brief account of myself - not easy!! Tomorrow, who knows - quiet, joyful, pensive, thoughtful, happy, sad, funny, silly, confident- sometimes not so. What do they say about variety?
Having reached some degree of maturity(not quite 100)and looked at myself from many angles, and tried to view myself through other peoples eyes, I may now be qualified to give some sort of account of myself.
Although life has not always been easy,I am naturally happy and optimistic. Understanding and appreciating rather than criticising. Smiling and laughing - especially at myself - rather than looking at life from a grim perspective.

Lived life, love life and am pretty balanced on the work and enjoyment front. Running my dog next to a river looking up at the mountains is awesome.
